Give Your Rig a Boost!

More than just a one-trick pony boost pedal, the TC Electronic Spark Booster is a flexible, feature-laden boost pedal that is ready to rock. Many boost pedals feature a volume knob only, not the Spark Booster. You get powerful tone-sculpting controls that let you create your perfect sound. A boost characteristic switch changes the pedal from a clean, transparent boost to a mid-boosted punch to cut through any mix. With 26db of gain you'll be able to drive any amp into sonic bliss. Call Sweetwater and add serious punch and boost to your rig with the TC Electronic Spark Booster.

TC Electronic Spark Booster Boost Pedal at a Glance:
  • Flexible boost options
  • 2-band EQ lets you contour your tone to perfection
  • True bypass circuitry protects your tone
Flexible boost options

TC Electronic's Spark Booster isn't another one-knob boost pedal, it features gain, level, and a 3-way boost characteristics switch. The gain knob will let you add a little grit to your sound, while the level knob drives your amp and can add up to 26db of boost. Spark Booster's switch has three settings: clean, fat, and mid. Clean gives your signal a clean boost, fat adds girth to your single-coil sounds, and the mid setting punches through the mix with a snarl.

2-band EQ lets you contour your tone to perfection

Unlike most boost pedals on the market, TC Electronic's Spark Booster features a 2-band EQ. These active controls work independently of each other like a graphic EQ. This gives you precise control of each band so you can dial in that perfect tone. When the EQ knobs are set to noon they are completely transparent and will not affect your signal.

True bypass circuitry protects your tone

It may not seem like a big deal, but the Spark Booster's true bypass circuitry plays a major role in preserving your tone when it's not in use, especially if you have an elaborate pedalboard setup. You see, when not in use, the Spark Booster's true bypass design takes it completely out of your signal chain. That means your signal doesn't run through the entire pedal's circuitry, which can effectively add yards of passive "cable length" to your system - a recipe for adding noise to your sound. Thanks to the TC Electronic Spark Booster's true bypass switching, your signal stays pure and your tone remains free from unnecessary noise.

TC Electronic Spark Booster Boost Pedal Features:
  • Give your guitar up to a 26db boost
  • 2-band EQ to dial in your perfect tone
  • Gain and level controls for everything from clean to dirty boosts
  • 3-way toggle for different boost characteristics
  • True-bypass switching
Spark your tonal creativity with the TC Electronic Spark Booster pedal!

Reviews

Tc Electronic Spark the best clean boost/overdrive pedal
It's simply the best one I've ever used. I used to use a Maxon OD808 to boost my amps. No gain, level maxed, and adjust the tone to your amp head. The Tc Electronic Spark has probably double the output and more eq controls than the Maxon OD808. I also believe the bass, treble, and mids toggle switch are active eq controls not passive. I use my Tc Electronic Spark in front of my Engl Fireball 25 kt77 head going to a horizontal Engl 2x12 cabinet. I set the bass and treble at 11 o'clock and the mids toggle down. I set the Engl Fireball bass and treble at 1 o'clock, mids at 3 o'clock, mid boost on, and presence at 11 o'clock. I use these eq settings for everything I play only adjusting the gain for the music I'm playing. Get it also because it's not expensive and cheaper than a tubescreamer or Boss SD-1 too.

Tele into Princeton
This pedal pushed my amp into spankville at super low volumes! I can perfectly dial in and "wake up" my combo thanks to the tone controls TC added. The pedal has no noise floor even when it's cooking. Super clean and sparkly/glassy, to pushed, to tube amp nitro hot rodded tear the wood pile down atom splitting speaker torture. SO MUCH HEADROOM!!!!
Music background: Twangbangin
Great slightly compressed
I tried this first into 5f6 bassman 4x10. Two 5881's and 4 P10Q's. Love the mid position.
It turns is into a Marshall type grind. And with natural compression. Works great cutting the harsh sounds of 5881's
Highly recommend to those use like a little compression with their boost.
A/B with MXR duke of tone
It has its own thing going.
I'd recommend Duke of tune to El34 users and this pedal with 6L6 amps.
Music background: Roots rock/ Country
Works great in 5 string bass.
I was looking for a pedal that added a little clarity, definition and growl on my sound, I tried a DI pedal + distortion and had to return it since the distortion was too moody and overpowering, it over-colored my sound and it was very noisy, I discovered that I don't really like distortion on my bass sound.

Then I came across the spark and sounded like a good idea.

I couldn't be happier, the boost is super handy, the tone shaping is also really good and the gain adds that grit that makes you stand out without the coloring of a fuzz or distortion.

The gain adds edge that with the tone controls can go a long way to make your bass cut-thru but not at the cost of loosing bottom end, I was stuck in the idea of the blend knob that many distortion/fuzz/overdrive pedals have but with the Spark you don't need it, the tone knobs helps with that.

My chain is compressor, pre-amp pedal and the spark, and it can do anything I want. My G&L tribute L2500 has already a ton of sounds and all of them are affected equally since the boost is super clear and very low to no noise (even maxing my practice amp volume, the added noise is pretty manageable if you want dead quiet a noise gate will work effortlessly)

And if you add to all that you still have the Fat/Clean/Mis switch, I think many of you will find a very useful sound out of this pedal.
Music background: Bass player for the pure pleasure of it, as it now Bandless but have recorded and performed with my previous one.
Improved My Amp’s Tone
I originally thought I would use this pedal to bypass my guitar's volume control knob. Instead, I discovered that this pedal significantly improves the sound of my Fender Deluxe Reverb Tone Master amp. The T.C. Electric Spark pedal gives the Fender Tone Master a richer tone with a very smooth edge of breakup sound like a good tube amp. This is very useful while using the amp's lower attenuator settings for lower stage volume. Definitely a very pleasant surprise.
