All the tools you need for great sound

Like the name says, the ProFX22v2 is a professional mixer, with convenient features and sound that rivals that of some larger format mixers. Mackie designed the Vita preamps with live sound in mind to provide the quality of sound that is lacking in some compact mixers. Each channel features its own individual 3-band EQ with sweepable mid-frequencies and 100Hz low-cut filter for shaping the sound of your inputs. The ReadyFX digital effects engine gives you access to 16 different effects including reverbs and delays - Mackie even added chorus effects for your guitar. A 7-band graphic EQ can be assigned either to your main outputs so you can fine tune the PA or the aux output to easily get rid of feedback in your monitors. If you perform with tracks there are inputs (including USB) for your laptop or MP3 player. You get four channels of single-knob compression, a headphone output with individual level control, and when you add to all that phantom power for your condenser mics, you have no reason NOT to own a ProFX22v2.

Gear that stands the test of time

Ever walk into a venue to set up and been pointed to an old Mackie mixer in the corner, covered in years of smoke, dust, and bar goo? Are you surprised when you plug in, fire it up, and rock your gig? You shouldn't be! Mackie has been making solid, roadworthy gear for decades and the ProFX22v2 is no different. In fact, the gear just keeps getting better. Built like a tank? Indeed! With solid steel chassis construction and super-tough ABS side protection you'll be playing through your ProFX22v2 for years to come.

Record and stream via USB

With all the right tools for the job, the ProFX22v2 allows you to create memorable mixes, but even with all those features, portability is paramount and you can't be burdened with lugging around additional equipment. No worries, integrated USB I/O takes the pain out of recording. Just connect the ProFX22v2 to a laptop, start up your included copy of Tracktion music production software (or almost any DAW software) and you can record the whole mix. You can even stream music from your laptop during breaks.

The innovative "USB Thru" switch allows for an impressive live/recording setup when using performance software like Ableton Live or Reason. When gigging, stream the output of your performance software (or iTunes, for that matter) into the ProFX22v2. Combine that signal with anything plugged into the mixer, and send the whole thing back to the computer for recording. Archiving your integrated live performances has never been easier!

Great Console!

As a weekend warrior musician, worship choir member and my experience from working for a Broadway pro-sound shop I feel I am qualified to give an accurate review of the Mackie ProFX22v2 mixer. I purchased this board to replace an older, smaller Makie mixer which was beginning to accumulate "age related dead fader syndrome". It had been at my church for so long that even the church elders couldn't remember how long it had been in service. I already had experience working with that board and other Mackie boards so I felt comfortable ordering this mixer to accommodate more inputs while remaining user friendly for less tech savvy users at the church. The swap out was easy and set up was painless. I highly recommend also ordering and using the Mackie cover for this as moisture, dirt and dust will kill the faders over the long haul although if the old Mackie could be any indication that will be a long time. The old board ran for years giving faithful service for hours every Sunday and for special concerts and events. The new mixing console offers room for expansion over the older 16 channel it replaced and offers easy to use sweetening on-board effects. It runs silent and the sound system in the church never sounded better. Makie offers a great bang for the buck with this mixer and will a little care should last a long time. Highly recommended for installation in worship situations with a cover or hard case or for live sound for small to mid sized bands when protected by a good road case. Mine arrived in perfect condition and I always feel confident purchasing anything from Sweetwater as they inspect everything and stand behind all their sales so you can feel confident that you will be treated properly. Shout our to my Sweetwater rep Mike Picotte as he is always helpful and knowledgeable and will communicate with you all the way!

I've used both the v1 and the v2 versions of ProFX16 for MANY bar gigs with bands and weekly open mics, and the ProFX22 in my home studio / jam space. These mixers are, as Mackie says, "built like a tank," and they are very reliable. I have never had any issues with the ProFX series mixers. Never had a board fail or had any channels, fx, or features fail. I really like the fact that these boards are easy to use, so that it's easy for others to use with little to no training. The dust covers and cases that Mackie makes specifically for the 16 and 22 are great! I have only two gripes: (1) I wish that it had a light attachment, and (2) this mixer lets you use either XLR or TRS for your main speakers (5 - 6 db louder XLR), but you can only use TRS inputs for the monitor sends. This limits the kind of stage snake that you can use...
