Comprehensive Foot Control for Your DAW or Guitar Rig

Take control of your DAW or guitar rig with the Nektar Pacer MIDI Foot Controller. Featuring dedicated color LEDs to show control assignments, Pacer gives you hands-free control over software like Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase, Bitwig Studio, Apple Logic and GarageBand, Avid Pro Tools, and of course, Nektar. And it doesn't stop at your DAW — Pacer supports external foot switches and expression pedals, and you can even connect it to your guitar amplifier for channel switching and effects/reverb switching. Guitarists at Sweetwater appreciate its presets for popular guitar devices like the Line 6 Helix, Avid Eleven Rack, Kemper Profiler, and many more. All this packed into a rugged, solid steel casing to make the Nektar Pacer MIDI Foot Controller ideal for any studio or stage application.

Hands-free control for your DAW software

When you're trying to create music, keeping your hands on your instrument helps keep you in the creative zone. With Nektar Pacer you'll be able to control playback, enable recording, change tracks, and much more, with practically any DAW software out there. It's fully integrated with Nektar DAW software, and supports the MCU protocol for other DAWs — it's even supported by Avid Pro Tools.

Versatile MIDI solution for hardware-based processors

Looking for a customizable way to interact with your Line 6 Helix, Kemper Profiler, Avid Eleven Rack, AxeFX, or other guitar processor? The Nektar Pacer foot controller features MIDI presets for all of these, giving you more flexible control options than you may have with these devices on their own. And because Pacer can send up to 16 MIDI messages when you change presets, you can completely reconfigure your guitar rig at the press of a button.

Powerful switching device for your amplifier

While Pacer is immensely popular with DAW users of all types, it's a versatile switching device for your real guitar amplifier too. It offers four switchable relays which can be used to switch channels on your amplifier, toggle reverb, engage effects, and otherwise interact with whatever switching options your amplifier offers.

Nektar Pacer DAW Foot Controller Features:

  • MIDI foot controller for DAWs and guitar processors
  • 10 programmable buttons, with LED indicators for control assignments
  • 24 available presets (Banks A–D, 6 presets each)
  • Support for 4 programmable external footswitches
  • Support for 2 programmable external expression pedals
  • 4 programmable relays for switching channels or effects on amplifiers
  • 1 programmable encoder
  • Footswitches can send up to 6 messages when activated
  • MIDI Out port for external hardware control
  • USB class compliant, powered via USB or USB power supply (sold separately)

Reviews

I should have bought one a year ago!
This thing is built like a tank, and works as advertised. I use it to control a Boss RC 505 Loop Station, which out of the box is practically useless for guitarists.

My only issue with this controller is the LED display. It doesn't give enough information. You can see the patch name when you select it, but as soon as you step on a button, all it shows you is the numeric data it sent. So, it works great but the display is sorely lacking.
Music background: Professional musician (retired).
Nektar Pacer - Great addition to my studio for improving workflow with DAW and hardware synths
I bought Pacer to accelerate the workflow process for composing music in my DAW (Bitwig). My objective was to get a drop-in footswitch with no tedious MIDI programming to control transport functions. Pacer exceeded my expectations and have expanded my use of it to control hardware synths for performances. Pacer is built very solidly and seems quite durable.
Music background: Advanced amateur. Enjoy classical, new age, and electronic music styles.
The Good & The Bad
The Good ( I like the Pedal )
The Bad ( I hate the Menu / Display )

If you research YouTube as i did, then menu system nightmare will be no surprise.

It comes from the Factory with all ( 24 ) prests pre-configured

The ( 24 ) preset can be customized to your preference. ( use this Editor, its a must have )
Nektar Pacer Editor ( by StudioCode.dev )
http://studiocode.dev/pacer-editor/#/

If you use the Reaper DAW.( you'll need to Dn-Loaded & installed Pacer's Reaper support file )
then Pacer's Track & Transport presets are completely functional.( very user friendly )

Should you decide to customize any of the ( 24 ) Pacer's presets to work with Reaper, then

note: Reaper will not see CC input from Pacer until.. you check the box
[ x ] Enable input for control messages
located ( Reaper Preferences > Audio > Midi Devices > Midi Input > Pacer- configure midi input )

Bottom Line > the Menu is a Headache, but the MIDI Foot Controller is Great!!! ( after you get it setup ).
Works great with Eleven Rack!
The preset for the Eleven Rack works great. It turns effects on and off.Works great with expression pedals especially Mission's EP-11S.Makes Avid's Eleven Rack easier to use.Love it .
Studio 1 and the Nektar Pacer
I bought this product to control my DAW application in Studio One. I went to the Nektar website and downloaded the appropriate software packages. It works flawless and it was easy.
