Shure PGA52 excels on kick drum and bass

Record kick drums and bass amps that kick like a mule with the Shure PGA52 dynamic microphone. It's tuned for extremely solid low frequency response, and it'll capture the power of your source with exceptional focus and accuracy. Use the handy swivel joint to find the perfect angle in relation to your sound source. The handy quick release latch makes setup and teardown a snap.

Shure PGA56s make toms sound spectacular

PGA56 dynamic microphones are a great way to capture drums (especially toms), and other high-impact sound sources. Recordists and drummers at Sweetwater have long turned to Shure microphones for their durability and sound quality. When you need to mic up an acoustic drum kit, you can expect clean, consistent results from the Shure PGA56.

Shure PGA57 captures guitar amps, snares, and more

Capture the intensity of amplifiers, snare drums and more with the Shure PGA57 dynamic microphone. Like the legendary Shure mic it's descended from, the PGA57 serves up consistent results with powerful, harmonically-rich sound sources like guitar amps and snare drums. The cardioid pickup pattern helps you capture more of the sound you want, and less of the sound of the room that you're in.

Shure PGA81s are solid mics for drum overheads

With a pair of Shure PGA81 condenser microphones as overheads, you'll be primed to capture the true sound of your drum kit. Recording engineers at Sweetwater know that you need versatile solutions when you don't have a lot of microphones in your collection, and the PGA81 promises great-sounding performance that you can count on for any session.

Completely satisfied!

For the price, you're not going to find a better set of mics. I've not recorded with these mics, but based on how they've performed live in bars, halls, ballrooms, indoors, outdoors, with large and small bands, I have to believe these would work in the studio, too. Great bottom and "boom" on the kick drum, excellent pick-up and crispy breakthrough of my six cymbals from the overheads, and excellent projection from the snare and tom mics. You may get some marginally better performance from the Audix or Sennheisers and pay twice as much or more, but for the money, you can't beat this kit of mics.

Great Mics!

My drums sound incredible with these mics-no regrets in buying them. I use them to jam to tracks, and later I will do some recording with them. They are solidly built and look good too. Would buy them again.

Shure PGA 7 Mic Kit

Great mics for the price! This set even comes with mic cables, whereas other brands require you to order cables separately. Very responsive, especially the overheads. I would recommend these mics to any drummer. I am going to get two more tom-tom mics, another snare mic for underneath snare, and a second bass mic to outside the resonant head. I'm using a Shure SM-57 for my hats, however the sensitivity of the one snare mic in the PGA 7 kit actually picks up the snare and hi-hat well; I just like a lot of hat. Again, fantastic product at a phenomenal price!!

Best mic set out there for the price

These are a great foundation for any live or studio soundman looking to grab the first set of drum mics. The next logical upgrade after acquiring these would then of course be to swap out individual mics for higher-end counterparts, I'd start with the snare miv as plain SM57's are easy to acquire if one doesn't already own some. Or perhaps one could jump straight to the DMK57-52 pack for another great deal on Shure microphones. This is a great pack, nothing else beats it at this price point.
