With its scalloped X-braced solid cedar top and sapele back and sides, the P3MC looks great and is tonally versatile enough to handle whatever playing style your musical mood dictates. Takamine - over 50 years of quality, great sound, and playability

The Takamine Pro Series P3MC acoustic-electric guitar is the result of over a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan's Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music's biggest stars. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods, construction techniques, and technical innovations such as the proprietary CT4B preamp system found in this guitar.

Takamine's CT4B preamp system gives you natural amplified tone

The Pro Series P3MC sports Takamine's CT4B preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output - instantly. A feature of Pro Series guitars, the CT4B features three-band EQ, a volume control and a built-in tuner. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable turns the preamp off. The CT4B is powered by a single 9 volt battery.

Takamine Pro Series P3MC Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • OM cutaway; scalloped X-braced solid cedar top, solid sapele back, sapele laminate sides
  • Mahogany Neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, 20 nickel-silver frets, wood dot-in-dot inlays

Excellent Guitar

A very fine guitar, and made it a better guitar after some tweaking. The factory action readings on this guitar right out of the case was .092 low E at 12th. fret, and .072 on high E string at 12th. fret. These readings are too high for finger style playing,so I brought the split saddles down.I needed an action reading around .030 lower,so that means you need to double measurement at the saddle.I sanded them down approx. .060.Now I have action readings approx. .062 on low E string at 12th. fret, and .042 high E string at 12th. fret.Low E is .024 at first fret, and .014 on high E at 1st. fret. Also I had to smooth out the sharp edges on the nut, and fine sand polish, and lube with sharpened pencil tip.Now this baby plays as fine as my $2,600 Maton guitar BG808 TE model.I recommend this guitar for sure, and at a great price here at SweetWater..!!
