The future of recording - it's mobile

In 2011, Apogee turned the music-making world on its ear with the original MiC, which went on to become the mobile mic of choice for capturing pro-studio sound on the go. Now Apogee ups the ante with the new MiC 96k. Optimized for the latest Apple iOS devices and the Mac, the MiC 96k delivers pristine audio fidelity of up to 24-bit/96kHz. So now being on the road is no longer an excuse. With the MiC 96k, you can get studio-grade sound, wherever you are!

Killer 3-in-one package

Apogee's MiC 96k is really three cutting-edge products in one - combining a microphone, mic preamp and A/D converter into one compact, attractive, and roadworthy package. Apogee has painstakingly designed each component of MiC 96k to deliver the highest-quality signal with vanishingly low noise. All in a rugged, rather cool-looking device that easily slips into your pocket.

Easy to use, made to travel

The ultra-portable MiC 96k puts a true condenser microphone to work wherever and whenever you need it. Want to capture sounds in the field fast? You'll appreciate the MiC's plug-and-play ease of use. Its USB and iOS connectivity means you don't have to fuss with an additional interface, so you can plug straight into your Mac, iPad, or iPhone and you're ready to roll. You'll also love the elegantly simple gain control and multicolor LED that lets you keep an eye on your levels. Unlike some dainty studio mics, the MiC 96k is built tough, so you can take it on the road with confidence.

The search is over...

I needed an easy USB mic for quick voice overs to my Mac on video projects. I had expected to buy a different mic, but research lead me to pull the trigger on the Apogree MiC 96K... and I'm very happy with that decision. It's extremely easy to use. The thing that really set this mic apart for me was the Apogee electronics and the extraordinary quality they provided. I was also impressed by the number of voice-over people who recommend this. In fact, the lightning connector that is included along with the USB connector has opened up the possibility of doing quality voice work through my iPhone. The sound is extremely clean with very little coloration. This mic can't be "played" like some (for example, no proximity effect), but if you're looking for a pristine voice track, you'll get it. It's small and rugged for portability. I use a windscreen on mine, along with an SE reflexion filter with excellent results. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I'm also thankful for the expert advice from Sweetwater, lightning fast shipping, and helpful follow-up.

Super Mic

great mic for vocals and guitar

A real winner!

I used this mic to record some VO and also a musical composition. This mic has great transparency and is now a vital tool! USB mics have come along way! This is well worth the money!

Much more than the size intuits.

This mic is much better than the size or price would let you believe. It definitely has a musicality to it, and it makes my voice sound better (to me) than it actually is. I've never used high end mics (over $1500), but this little guy sounds better to me than the Bluebird that I've been using for awhile; again, because it isn't as flat as the Bluebird so it adds color. Some people absolutely do not want that, I, on the other hand, love it on vocals. I still have yet to mic up my acoustic or my amp, but so far I have zero regrets from purchasing this little powerhouse.
Music background: Musician, Engineer - Not pro but I've spent a lot of time around HD systems and currently work in Logic X.

The little "KingKong" of travel Mics

The MiC 96 is more than I could have hoped for. It's so simple...It's scary. Easily attached to a travel mic stand. Throw on a pop filter, and bingo.....The laundry closet instantly transformed into a solid recording studio. The sound is so good...you'll never have to worry about traveling from the comfort of your home studio. I was truly delighted with the size, ease price and performance.
