Improved modeling for a greater range across the board
Cherry Audio’s improved analog modeling gives the Memorymode 2’s oscillators, envelopes, and filter more depth and detail than the software’s first iteration. The ladder filter itself now switches between 12 and 24 dB per octave, giving you the classic 4-pole roar or a gentler 2-pole slope for sounds that retain their top end. Emphasis Compensation holds the level and low-frequency weight steady as you push resonance up, so a filter sweep doesn’t lose your patch’s bottom end. Analog drift and the new Multi-Voice mode supply additional character, varying pitch, panning, cutoff, and envelope times from voice to voice by amounts you trim yourself. Your sounds breathe as if they came off the original 1982 unit, with room to go where the hardware never could.


Two synths in every preset
Sweetwater producers say that the Memorymode's dual-layer architecture is what jumps out immediately after pressing a key. Each layer is a complete 16-voice synth with its own oscillators, filter, envelopes, modulation, patterns, and effects chain, and you decide whether the two sit side by side as a keyboard split or stack together into one enormous sound. When stacked, the two layers produce sounds no single 16-voice engine can reach. Split them, and you can cover two parts in one performance.
