electro-harmonix Memory Boy Analog Delay Pedal

I use it on my clean amp side into a Fender 212 De Ville which I like because of its natural overdrive. it sits on the rack behind an Empress Vintage Super Delay set permanently to tape mode B. The Memory Boy is set to chorus and the analogue delay is way better than the former digital delay it replaced. My EJ Stratocaster and I now get that wonderful Eric Johnson clean delay sound I was looking for it completes the prefect shimmer!

Incredible Little Box

People compare this to the MXR carbon copy, but EHX's Memory Toy is actually the comparable product to that. With two waveforms, three different speeds for the waveforms, plus a depth knob to control the intensity of the waveforms, the Memory Boy does something completely different than the Memory Toy and the Carbon Copy, in addition to created the dark warm analog repeats that everyone loves. I'm sure the Analog Memory Man has more options and is probably even more amazing (I haven't listened to it), but that is over twice as expensive as this! You get ALOT for the price here. I have a little looper on my amp, and I have been layering sounds from this with my acoustic guitar plugged in. Enhances the tone of a super cheap guitar for sure, and it's a beautiful tiny introduction into the world of analog.

EH Memory Boy

I'm still working with it to get that right..... You know. Outside of that, I really like it. The delay isn't quit what I like but the Chorus is Fantastic !!!!

Awesome Analog

I wish I would have gotten the memory man, Just to hone in on customizing the delay more. But It works PHENOMENALLY especially with an expression pedal the tones are killer!

Choice Delay

This has great dark sounding repeats and the modulations are awesome. Sine wave mods are more "useable" than square wave, but if you're after far out/trippy sounds, square wave mode is where it's at. The ability to switch between chorus and vibrato mods is good as I find they each have there place in different songs. The depth knob for the mods gets full on pretty quick (around 8-9 o'clock is a nice area to my ears) but it is far better than a knob that leaves you wishing for more. Blend knob ranges form 100% dry to 100% wet which leaves you with plenty of options. Overall, It's a great old school sounding delay that sounds great out of the box and takes no time to set up a cool sound. You can go for a subtle delay or get into warped spacey sounds with this thing and the price is unbeatable. Price + Functions = Win Just buy one.
