Powerful Manhattan Compression in a Pint-size Pedal

Don't let its diminutive disguise fool you: Keeley's incredible Compressor Mini pedal sounds massive! Inside this pocket-size device is everything necessary for treating your tone to that classic Manhattan-style compression, with a simple 2-knob layout to dial in your ideal settings. By blending your dry signal with the compressed signal, the Compressor Mini enhances clarity and note definition while beefing up your sound. An increased sustain range and Keeley's new-and-improved transient release time only sweeten the pot — it's guaranteed to make humbucker and single-coil pickups sound their absolute best. Sweetwater players are blown away by the Compressor Mini's built-in preamp, which gives you a serious sonic upgrade before your signal even hits the amp. Throw in automatic tone recovery for higher compression settings, and you may never need another compressor again with the Keeley Compressor Mini on your pedalboard.

Keeley Compressor Mini Compressor Pedal Features:

  • Manhattan-style compression in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure
  • Level and Comp controls to dial in perfect settings with ease
  • Increased sustain range and upgraded transient release time subtly compress your signal while making humbuckers and single-coils come to life
  • Auto-blend enhances clarity and note definition
  • Built-in preamp pumps out awesome tones
  • Automatic tone recovery at high compression settings acts as a treble clarifier

Reviews

Great little comp.
Keeley products always shine. This is no exception.

My new favorite compressor
I bought this pedal to serve double duty as not only a compressor, but as a buffer amp for my POD Go... This unit excels at this job... I also own a PRS Mary Cries Optical Compressor pedal, but it was too large to fit on the POD Go's pedal board (Temple Audio Solo 18)... So the compressor had big shoes to fill concerning audio quality and it did not dissapoint... I was using a Peterson Mini Strobo Stomp Pedal as a buffer, but it definately works better with the Keely compressor which not only sounds (and feels) better than any of the digital compressor models in the POD Go, but it frees up a slot for some other effect...

The "color" compressor I've been waiting for, but not right for everyone
Get this if you want a full range of classic well-engineered compression options without any fuss. For my purposes, this comp is quick, easy and sounds great across the ranges with just a twist of two knobs, instead of having to compensate between 3-5 different knobs to get those same sounds.

Don't get it if you
a. want something transparent (the guitar limiting amp is great for that, I have it as well) or
b. you want to fiddle with extreme setting for experimental / niche effects, or
c. you're a control freak and want to dial in everything manually.
d. want to understand the principles and elements of compression (threshold, ratio, attack, release, knee, mix)

If one of those scenarios describes you, that's legit. But that doesn't make this a bad compressor. It just makes it not the right compressor for YOU. This is a compressor for the rest of us who just want "one of those sounds" across the sweep of the knob in very quick and easy manner.
GREAT TRANSPARENT MINI PEDAL
This is a great transparent mini pedal, simple to use and gives great feel. I have used the Xotic Compressor for years on my boards and this one blows it away. The stock settings they show for a low, medium and bloom settings work perfectly. So easy right out of the box, took it to a gig that night.
Music background: Professional for many decades
One comp to rule them all
I was not interested at a two knob comp. I have owned several other comps (4 and 5 knob) and have never been completely happy or able to use the comp in certain situations. I certainly didn't think less features was the direction to go but… I watched the many demos and Andy sold me on this. I was not disappointed. The thing works with singles and humbuckers. I can't seem to get a bad sound out of it. Even at high settings it is amazing. I set it higher than I usually use a comp because it doesn't kill my tone. This is the the happiest I have ever been with a comp and finally have one that will remain on my board. Thank you RK!
