Reviews say it all: Sound like crap, isolate great, Drummers love 'em

I'm not a drummer so I can't stand these things. You feel like your head is in a vice and they sound horrible. But I run a commercial studio and they are EVERY drummers first choice. I have DT770s and 380pro, they don't care. "Give me the Vics". It all a drummer cares about, they stay on their head through an earthquake and they block out the entire known universe. So 5 stars for doing what they're supposed to do. If you wanted them to sound good you're in the wrong dept. Spend at least $ on some 7506s. Incidentally these are the models used to make ISO headphones for autistic kids - they just paint them friendly colors. That's because they REALLY do isolate. Like a drummer with gas :).

Great Headphones

These have been the best headphones! Since purchasing these seven (7) years ago, they have always worked great!. I used to jam with a drummer in a silent studio who demanded we use these headphones. You just have to be careful when handling them around the wires coming out of the headphones because you can pull them loose over time. They are still working just like new.

great isolation

As a drummer I was having problems with head phones staying on my head, and click track bleed through. Both problems are solved with these. Because of the ear muffs style they block out more of the drums so I don't have to have the volume cranked to hear my live playing. the tight fit also helps with bleed through with out having to wear a head band to keep then from shifting.

Great for practicing

These headphones do a great job of isolating the drums during practice with or without playing along with a cd.

Vic Made these?

I purchased these about 2 years ago. I wish I would have got two. The low end from the closed cup is awesome. I picked them up for recording purposes, because the click track was showing up in the mice. I talked a sales rep and they said for less then $70 I wouldn't have to look for anything else. When the cups close it's pitch silent. when you pull them apart you recognize the sheer monstrous power they have. Down side which is a plus as well. They are super snug and you will develop a headache from it. But rest assure, you won't hear a click track in your recordings.
