What is the Auralex HoverMat and how does it benefit drummers?

The Auralex HoverMat is a portable drum mat engineered to acoustically decouple your drum kit from the stage or floor. This isolation significantly reduces unwanted vibrations and structural resonance, leading to a tighter, more focused drum sound with enhanced clarity and punch. It's an excellent solution for improving drum sound in studios, on stage, or during practice.

How does the HoverMat improve the sound of my drums?

The HoverMat uses a specialized design to isolate your drum kit from the floor. By decoupling the drums, it prevents vibrations from traveling into the stage or building structure. This reduces muddy low-end rumble and allows your drums to resonate more freely, giving you a clearer, more defined sound with better attack and sustain.

Is the Auralex HoverMat easy to transport and set up for gigs?

Yes, the HoverMat is designed for maximum portability and convenience. It rolls up easily and includes integrated straps to secure it, along with a durable transport bag for carrying. This makes it simple to take to gigs, rehearsals, or studio sessions, ensuring you can achieve optimal drum sound isolation wherever you play.

What are the dimensions of the Auralex HoverMat?

The Auralex HoverMat measures 6 feet by 4 feet (72 inches x 48 inches). This size provides ample space for most standard drum kits, including the kick drum, snare, hi-hat, and several cymbals, ensuring your entire setup benefits from the acoustic decoupling effect.

Can the HoverMat be used for other instruments or gear?

While primarily designed for drums, the HoverMat's decoupling properties can benefit other instruments or gear that generate significant vibrations. This includes bass amps, keyboard stands, or even vocalists who want to reduce stage rumble through their monitor. It helps isolate any sound source from the floor for clearer audio.
