Fender Michael Landau Killer Amp!!!

Hey, I will keep this short and sweet... I played with 4x12's and high gain tube heads for mega years and as I got older I wanted to slim down and go 100% pedal platform. I bought this on a whim from reading online and watching demos and WOW! It's a killer amp period for the coin. I had a Princeton 68 and a 68 DR and this thing is way better for pedal platform IMO. I tried a maz 18 and this was way better as a pedal platform amp. The V-Types are amazing speakers both clean and dirty. I bought this amp 8months ago and still love it! The only other amp I might consider for a pedal platform is a lone star classic but that is 2x the dough for a 2x12 combo...

Great Amp

Recently made a trip to check out some guitars and stumbled upon the Fender Hot Rod Deville ML 60W combo. This is definitely a departure from the standard HRD amps in that it has a foot switchable channel boost instead of the overdrive channels found in the standard versions of this amp. It is all clean with a little grit depending on what type of guitar you play through this amp but, it is basically like a boosted clean channel making it a little brighter. The reverb is the second departure from the original versions of this amplifier; giving you a lush sound adding a very spacious vibe with just the right amount of the effect. Played a Gretsch 5420T (Hollowbody) and an Ibanez Artcore and both guitars sounded amazing through this amp. Great pedal platform amp for those guitarist that want a great clean tone and then add their favorite pedals to get the sound they desire. Would highly recommend this amp to anyone searching for a nice jazz or blues amp because the circuit is straight forward without any extra complications by adding extra channel interference. However, it can easily be turned into a great rock amp by using your favorite fuzz, overdrive or distortion pedal. Try it for yourself you will not be disappointed.

Unbelievable

The reviews on this are dead on. This amp is a true gem. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, and this amp is hands-down the best I've ever played. Michael Landau nailed the modifications, you just need to hear for yourself...highly recommended.

Fender Hot Rod Deville ML 212

I needed an amp that would cover the diverse music I play with three different bands. After reviewing the youtube videos on the Hot rod DeVille ML I pulled the trigger with Sweetwater. I generally don't buy amps without playing them but I had a feeling that this amp would deliver. Man, did it ever. It handles pedals amazingly. I own two Dr. Z's and a Marshall 1959 SLP RI. All of those amps are tremendous but none handle the different types (R&B, country, classic rock, Americana, etc) of music as well as the HRD-ML. Every guitar I own sounds good through this amp and the boost is great. You dial in the perfect lead volume and stay away from the volume knob. The Celestions really compliment the HRD. The give my Tele a glassy tone that I love playing country. This amp has great cleans but the 2nd volume boost helps those pedals get a little more gnarly when you're play the old classic rock stuff. I highly recommend this amp for the gigging multifaceted guitarist. It's built like a rock and sings like a bird. Buy one from Sweetwater and notice the consistant smile on your face once you plug in.

Great amp!

Going to second what the first review said! The amp is very responsive and full of tone (as all Hot Rod Devilles are) The ML is sort of a simplified Hot Rod deville with a gain channel. IMO... Hot Rod Devilles are great amps in themselves. (IMO one of the best on the market...If you play Blues, Country, Jazz or Classic Rock...one can't find a better amp if your a working musician!) The ML appealed to me with it's simplification. It has two clean volume channels that share the same EQ, thus making the amp a great pedal platform. Very easy to work when gigging.
