Big Chorus Tone in a Mini Pedal

It's hard to beat the sound of real analog chorus for adding vibrant richness to your guitar tone, and the Ibanez Chorus Mini effects pedal serves it up in a compact pedal that can fit on any pedalboard. Speed, Depth, and Level controls make short work of dialing everything from gentle shimmering clean tones to extreme warbles. The 100% analog signal path maintains your guitar's tonal essence, while true bypass switching completely removes the effect from your signal path when disengaged. To add true analog chorus to your guitar rig, Sweetwater can highly recommend the Ibanez Chorus Mini.

Just bought one of these July 30, 2016. I didn't know what to expect. Wow small pedal big sound you can get that Nirvana sound definitely. I'm using this pedal through a slash SL5 tube amp, using a ibanez ar300 with slash pick ups. man you can get some nice blues out this pedal on a clean sound or more distortion. Awesome pedal worth the money tone sound

Big-time Chorus

I own the older version, the big one from the 80s and it does sound like a strong chorusy beast. The thing is I never used it with my guitars, but with my basses and it really beats other dedicated bass choruses by far! Man, what a sound on the four thick strings. I never used my pedalboard chorus for bass as it was too thin and, by doing so, I could use the flanger for bass which share the same knobs on the board.I strongly recommend this Ibanez chorus effect to those bass players who want to add something very special to their personal sound while showing off licks in front of audiences.
Music background: Classical/Rock-pop

Lush sound, rock solid.

This is a very rich-sounding analog chorus. From a subtle shimmer to "Come As You Are" watery warble, all settings on this pedal are usable. It leaves your tone intact, especially lows which can thin out with some choruses. If you want a chorus that sounds like a chorus, this is perfect. If you need being-shot-at-with-lasers-by-underwater-aliens (HEY! WAKE UP! THEY EXIST!!!), there are other (much more expensive) pedals out there that may work better for you. Very well-constructed in Japan, this heavy little pedal feels as if it were carved out of a solid hunk of steel. Heavier than many of my full-sized pedals, it does not slide around easily on a floor or table. The pots all feel smooth and high-quality, and the switch is as solid as any on my boutique pedals. Overall, I get that feeling that somehow the cs mini is greater than the sum of its parts, and it will probably outlive me.For lack of a better term, this pedal has character in spades. The kind of character that can get you attached to a piece of music gear despite its price tag or lack of boutique pedigree. Mini-pedal hint: haven't done it to this one yet, but a bit of white nail polish on the tip of a pointy toothpick works great to add clearly visable color to already-notched mini knobs. A Q-tip dipped in nail polish remover and rolled in a paper towel (keeps remover out of the pots) works great for any painting outside the lines. Makes seeing your settings at a glance as easy as any "normal"-sized pedal. Update: an A/B comparison with a popular chorus/trem pedal really underscored one of the cs minis best attributes: it is dead quiet. No hiss, no hum, no difference in sound when turned on except the beautiful chorus effect. When not actually playing, I need to check to see if the cs is turned on. Back goes the boutique pedal costing 2 1/2 times this one. I guess it all depends on where your priorities lie. I hate noise.

My favorite chorus pedals have always been the old Boss CE-2 and Ibanez CS-9. I have owned both but parted with them several years ago and have not really used any chorus effects since then. I recently decided to get another chorus pedal and saw the Ibanez Mini Chorus. The color immediately reminded me me of my old CS-9 and after doing some quick research I decided to buy it. The Mini Chorus is analog, made in Japan, and is extremely well built. I don't have a vintage chorus to test it against but it certainly reminds me of my old CS-9 and has the warm organic tone you would associate with a vintage analog unit. I am extremely happy with it, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for that vintage analog 80's chorus tone.

Simple chorus

This is a wonderfully simple chorus. Not a lot of parameters to adjust but it is simple to get a great classic chorus sound.
Music background: 50 years pro and semi-pro guitarist.

Sweetwater Advice

Ibanez Chorus Mini

Needless to say, there are no digital artifacts to highlight metallic out-of-phase sounds. Instead, the Chorus Mini offers a study in how contoured and multi-hued an analog chorus can sound in the right setting....
