Seymour Duncan Pickups - It's all about tone!

Seymour Duncan's APH-1 Alnico II Pro has found its way into the axes of guitarists such as Slash (Guns 'N Roses and Velvet Revolver) to Queensryche's Michael Wilton. Perfect for any genre from jazz to blues to classic rock and anything in between, the APH-1 is characterized by a warm sound and moderate output. The APH-1 is equipped with four-conductor cable to facilitate a variety of pickup switching configurations. For tones that can be classic and modern at the same time, the APH-1 fits the bill!

Alnico II
The Alnico II magnet and moderate windings yield a warm, sweet tone with more natural string vibration for great sustain. Classic rock players who get their distortion from the amp rather than the pickup love the APH-1. It allows them to back off the crunch and get beautiful clean tones with softer attack. Compared to the '59, the Alnico II Pro has a rounder sound with a spongier bass response. The APH-1 comes with four-conductor hookup cable.

The APH-1 is often used in both neck and bridge positions, or in the neck with a higher output pickup like an SH-11 Custom Custom or SHPG-1b Pearly Gates for heavier rock or hotter blues sounds from the bridge position. The APH-1 works well with brighter toned instruments and responds well to maple and ebony fingerboards. It also works great with hollow- and semi-hollowbody guitars.

Sweet and Smooth

The great thing about buying pups now-a-days is that the products description usually is a dead give a way on how it'll sound. Also,it's easy to just hop on the internet and read/listen to reviews on any particular piece of gear and get a good idea if it's what your looking for or not. This pickup is great! I put it in a LTD Viper 301 because the EMG 81 that was in it was way to hot for my taste and I love it!

1st Slash pickup scores !

I heard this in a buddy's guitar (through a JCM slash cabinet- what a terrific sound) and had to have one for myself. It is just excellent, sounds just about like Slash, even through my 1960b cab.

Awesome Pickups

This pickup and its twin brother at the neck have turned my Epiphone ES335 into a thousand dollar guitar. The tone is full and rich with all kinds of variations from rock to country tones depending on your gain and tone settings. It really enhances the sound so much.
