Krane AMG 500 Utility Cart at a Glance:

  • 3 usable configurations for hauling gear
  • Innovative design and build for easy use
  • Compact design for simple use and storage
3 usable configurations for hauling gear

The Krane AMG 500 has three modes of operation: tilted V mode, platform mode, and classic dolly mode. Tilted V mode lets you easily scoop up and quickly move cabinets with casters. If you have gear that you like to keep in an upright position, the platform mode is the way to go. This is great for your rack cases and drum kits. The AMG 500 classic dolly mode is great for climbing steps and hauling gear as only a dolly can.

Innovative design and build for easy use

The folks at Krane designed the AMG 500 from the ground up. This isn't just another cart rehash. The entire frame is made from 1" steel tubing, giving you superior strength. The AMG 500 can handle loads up to 500 lbs. Load up that massive bass cabinet without worrying about your cart. Unlike telescoping designs, there are no weak points to worry about and no cumbersome moving parts to deal with. Custom-made 8" polyurethane foam wheels won't ever go flat. These special-design wheels make moving your gear easier than ever due to their low-rolling resistance.

Compact design for simple use and storage

While carts make transporting gear easy, sometimes their size and weight can be its own issue. Krane's AMG 500 weighs in at just over 20 lbs. The short wheelbase lets you deftly weave gear through crowds and obstacles with ease. When you are done with the AMG 500, it folds up small enough to fit behind the seat of a compact car.

Krane AMG 500 Utility Cart Features:
  • Haul up to 500 lbs. of gear with this easy-to-use cart
  • Large wheels for easy transport and navigation
  • Cart weighs only 20 lbs. for easy hauling and storage
  • Built with 1" steel tubing for durability and strength
  • 3 usable configurations for hauling gear

A Live Musician Must!

I've been putting this purchase off for years. I'm glad I finally did it. Takes up some room but it's worth the little bit of tetris getting it in the vehicle for the lack of back pain in the morning after a gig. If you gig more than one night a week it's worth every penny.

Simply The Best

I have used many carts in my time but this one is simply the best. I saw someone with it on set a year or two ago and didn't think much about it. Then it was my turn to film and load all my equipment. I said to my self what was the name of the cart "That Guy" back then was using. Picked it up at B and H and have never looked back. It also has many other uses as well household and even taking out the trash. Light and easy to store as well. John Pallotta John Pallotta Studio

Beast of a Cart

This cart has the reputation it has for a reason. When you compare this cart to other cheaper carts, it's hard to find another that stacks up against it. Four configurations, mid size, solid wheels, and a strong build. I don't see myself putting 500 pounds worth of gear on it, but I'm sure it can handle it. I wheeled this thing around town this weekend with my bass rig on board. Solid construction and build. I know it's just a "cart", but it's worth the money. I'm very pleased with it. One of the best investments I've ever made.

So far so good.

I've been looking for something compact/light/versatile cart for a while. I guess the search is over. So far so good. The only thing I noticed I don't like was the wheels are kind of wiggly thats the reason i took 1 star. I already assemble and reassemble them to make sure I didnt miss anything during the assembly. The long bar that holds the 2 wheels and the knots are all very tight already but its still wiggly. When you roll the cart its not as smooth, if only the wheels are all balance with no gaps it would be perfect. Hard to explain here. I found out that the carpet board/floor is sold separately compare to the higher model that it already came with it. So i have to order them. At least the there's a free bungees. And I called the Krane company and complain about the board and they offer me additional discount. Their reps are quick to response and able to give me additional discount for the carpeted board (so I put back the .5 star for this). So the only bad thing is that the back wheels are wiggly because there's a small gap in between them and the metal bar that connects the 2 wheels. Other than that its perfect for my needs. My friends are already asking about it.

Someone Finally Got It Right!!

I normally would not write a review on a rudimentary mechanical piece of equipment like this, but let's face it--if you are performing live you are moving gear, and if you are moving gear you need some kind of cart (or a whole bunch of friends!) to help. I chose to write this as a former (and unimpressed) owner of one of the Rock N Roller competing products. While Rock N Roller has come a long way in the form of getting rid of inflatable tires, they still have the same old square tubing that flops around and gets in the way if you are not using the cart in a particular configuration. The square tubing was also never strong enough or supported well enough by the frame to use it as a true dolly for moving heavy racks up and down stairs. NOT SO with the Krane AMG 500!! The circular tubing is much stronger than that offered by its competitor, and it handles dolly-configuration duties with ease. I also love the rock-back dolly configuration you can do with the Krane that cannot be done on the Rock N Roller. The wheels are solid, changing configurations is a breeze, and I also like the fact that the large wheels are locked in with allen screws and washers rather than a simple codder key that the Rock N Roller cart uses. All in all, this is a fantastic cart that is a huge step up from the competing product I used to own.Now for what I would change. You may have noticed I dropped the rating 1/2 star from a full 5-star rating, and there are really only two reasons why. 1. The length of this cart when in the fully-down position is not adjustable (the Rock N Roller cart got them on this one). Not always needed by me personally, but nice to have just in case you need a longer bed and can thus get one more piece of gear on the cart (meaning one less trip to the trailer). 2. I wish the large caster wheels were just a little bit bigger (maybe 1" larger in diameter; 2" larger in diameter at the most). This is just kind of nit-picking, as the larger casters would make going up and down stairs a little bit easier when you have a 150# sub sitting on the front of this thing. Again, not a deal-breaker; I believe they are actually the same size as those on its chief competitor. Just a wish-for. Bottom line is that this cart is the real deal, and I am already smiling knowing how much easier it is to handle than my old Rock N Roller cart. For me, hands-down no decision--This cart beats its competition every time!!
