Amazing Taylor 12-string Value

With its slender, fast neck, the Taylor 150e 12-string acoustic-electric guitar gives you Taylor's signature playability and tonal clarity in an exceptionally high-value package. This guitar's dreadnought body delivers robust low-end response that balances beautifully with the silky octave shimmer, for a tone that's lush, yet articulate, with tons of dynamic range. The 150e features layered sapele back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top, for vibrant tone with healthy projection. And when you take the stage with your 150e, Taylor's ES2 electronics amplify that great tone to perfection.

Taylor 150e 12-string Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:

  • Taylor's Expression System 2 delivers incredibly natural sound with full dynamics
  • Addictive playability, for a guitar you can't put down
Choice tonewoods give you superior tone

The 150e is a prime example of the high-quality tonewoods Taylor selects for their guitars. It features time-proven Sitka spruce for its top, which gives you wonderful projection with the perfect amount of sparkle. The 150e's layered sapele back and sides also give it a warm, mellow quality, similar to that of mahogany, for an all-around balanced tone. The finest materials wouldn't be noteworthy without Taylor's rapt attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality. From the innovative neck joint to the durable, top-notch finish, your Taylor is built to play and sound absolutely great, right from the moment you pick it up. Don't settle for less; treat yourself to a Taylor!

Taylor's Expression System 2 delivers incredibly natural sound with full dynamics

Traditionally, acoustic-electric guitars have employed under-saddle piezo transducers, but Taylor goes about it a bit differently. Their Expression System 2 uses a proprietary pickup behind the saddle. The pickup's three individually calibrated, precisely positioned piezo-electric sensors respond organically to the instrument's acoustic energy as it's transferred through the saddle. In concert with Taylor's custom-designed preamp (which delivers a 25% hotter signal), the result is a natural acoustic sound with incredible dynamic range and responsiveness to your pick or finger attack. Sweetwater's guitar gurus are mightily impressed with Taylor's Expression System 2. Whether you're onstage through a PA, plugged into an acoustic amp, or direct into recording software, the ES2 faithfully conveys the voice of a Taylor guitar.

Addictive playability, for a guitar you can't put down

There's nothing like a Taylor. Sweetwater Sales Engineers have long recommended them for their playability and exceptional tonal clarity (which makes them perfect for recording). But what is it that makes a Taylor acoustic so good? For starters, each Taylor is made out of premium tonewoods, for great sound that only gets better with age. You'll also love the easy-playing neck. Even if you're primarily an electric player, you'll feel totally comfortable getting around on this neck. Pick up your 150e and strum a few chords. You won't want to put it down.

Taylor 150e 12-string Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • Solid spruce top with 100 Series 12-string bracing pattern
  • Layered sapele back and sides deliver rich mahogany-like tone
  • Fast, slim sapele neck with premium ebony fingerboard
  • Taylor ES2 electronics
  • Indian rosewood headstock overlay
The Taylor 150e 12-string is an amazing Taylor value.

Everything you could ask for at a reasonable price.

The 150e packs a lot of volume acoustically, and has a great sound when plugged in. The resonance is every bit as incredible as you would expect from a Taylor and a 12-string. Obviously it doesn't sound as amazing as the 4-6k 12-string Taylors, but most people aren't going to be able to tell the difference. Great guitar. Great Price.

The Taylor 150E 12 String is a bargain!

I can't believe this guitar sounds that good and plays this easy for such a low price; what a bargain! This 150E proves Taylor does not cut quality on the 100 series. I just purchased a Taylor deluxe case (which the guitar truely deserves) even though the factory gig bag is extremely nice and well made. Thanks again to Scott A. for pointing in the right direction. This is the 3rd guitar purchase from sweetwater with help from Scott and they have all been winners!

Sweetwater and the Taylor 150e are superb!

First of all, I have to tell you that the Sweetwater people are top notch. My purchase of the Taylor 150e was the best guitar buying experience of my life (and that's saying something at 59 years old!). Ryan Murray was superb at helping me with my questions about a 12 string purchase, I asked for several quotes via email and he came through almost immediately with my requests, one of which was for the Taylor 150e. He noted that there was a Taylor 150e demo model for a reduced price if that interested me, realize I didn't ask for this, he simply stated the fact and let me decide. If that wasn't enough, he went the extra step to make sure that the original warranty was still in effect through Taylor (indeed, it was). Being as this was on the Friday before Labor Day I said I'd get back to him on the following Tuesday... well, I decided to make the purchase on Saturday of the holiday weekend. He was off that day and the receptionist told me that the "team" would still help me and that this is the standard operating procedure for Sweetwater. They didn't miss a beat, I was able to purchase the Taylor 150e at a fantastic price and it was actually shipped out of Indiana on Sunday night of the holiday weekend. I received it on Saturday the 10th. It was wonderfully packaged and it arrived in perfect shape. The entire team at Sweetwater is exceptional and I will buy from them again. My friends will also get a recommendation to check out the site, as well. Now, the Taylor 150e. Let me just put it this way - Bob Taylor has said that the 300 series guitars are 90% of the presentation series, and he's absolutely correct. Now, I'd have to say the same about the 150e. This instrument's intonation was SPOT ON right out of the box and the acoustic sound is much better than I expected with layered sides and back. Its playability/action has no peers Truly, it sounds every bit as good as my 310ce. The electronic are superb, as well, and sounds great running through my Fender Acoustasonic amp. The 55 point check up and 2 year warranty through Sweetwater is icing on the cake. I knew Taylor had a winner with this series, especially as a 12 string. But, truly, the people at Sweetwater created such a wonderful environment I felt like I was back in Fort Wayne with a bunch of friends. Oh, and, if you get the chance, take the virtual tour of Sweetwater. That will give you and idea of what's behind your computer screen! And the little bag of candy was a nice touch, too! Thanks again Ryan, and thank the entire "team" at Sweetwater!

Great instrument for the price

I own a classic Taylor dreadnaught as well as a Strat and a Les Paul (all from Sweetwater). I have always longed for a twelve string but couldn't justify the purchase until I saw the 150e (I know, why the sudden concern for expense at this point). I am a big fan of Tayor and I knew this would be a quality product even if not build here in San Diego County. I was extremely pleased with the quality and the guitar's voice is righ and full. This is a wonderful addition to my collection.
