Grover 135N Vintage Tuners 3+3

Just what the doctor ordered. Put them on my late 90's Epi Dot. What a huge improvement in tuning plus they look awesome. Also they took off almost 2 ounces of weight off my beauty compared to the stock tuners!

Impressive Upgrade

I expected them to be nice, what I didn't expect was the quality of workmanship and attention to detail. These tuners are beautiful! The coloring in the keys is consistent and even. The back covers are incredible. The text is clean and crisp and the ribbing is very precise with outstanding definition. The edges are so crisp and clear that they reflect light like facets. Metal surfaces are perfect and polished brightly. The looks are only half the story. There is no backlash. The gears mesh tightly yet turn smoothly. Every machine has the same resistance, there is no "difficult" one. The 14:1 ratio allows fast re-string time and accurate tuning. Another feature that I like is the length of the tuning posts. The length allows three complete winds with no pinching, even on the low E. Tuning stability is superb. I put them on an early 2000 Epiphone SG-400 and the results were more than I could have asked for. Installation on this guitar was a snap, as the holes were already the right size. The only alteration to the guitar that was necessary was drilling the extra screw holes since the original tuners were single screw. Speaking of the screws.... the screws included did not have heads that strip. I like to use small pilot holes to get maximum thread engagement, and these screw heads held up with no deformation of the slots what so ever. If you're looking for a classy, vintage mojo upgrade you should definitely consider the Grover 135N tuner.

For les Paul studio

These tuners fit right into my les Paul studio perfectly!

Excellent Tuners!

Bought these tuners to replace the Gibson Vintage Tuners that came with my 2014 Gibson Melody maker. The stock Gibson Tuners would consistently go out of tune while playing which was extremely frustrating. The Grover 135N Vintage Tuners where a perfect match and fit, and staying in tune while playing is now a thing of the past. Even with heavy string bends I can get through at least 5-6 songs straight without having to do any minor tuning adjustments. NOTE: Be sure the measure your peg hole size on your guitar's head stock. These tuners are designed for 13/32"/ 10mm peg holes. Some guitars have 11/32" peg holes which would require reaming of the peg holes to 13/32" / 10mm in order for these tuners to fit. If your guitar's peg holes are 11/32" and you don't wish to alter your guitar's peg hole size, then look at a set of Gotoh Vintage Style Tuners which are made for 11/32" peg holes, and are a high quality tuners. Grover doesn't make a Vintage Style Tuner for 11/32" peg holes unfortunately. My Gibson guitar had 13/32"/ 10mm peg holes from the factory which made installing these Vintage Grover Tuners a direct, no fuss, perfect fit replacement option. Plus, for me, Grover Tuners and Gibson have always gone hand and hand.
