Featuring Danelectro’s unmistakable shorthorn double-cutaway body, the ’59 offers incredible balance. With the Danelectro ’59, there is no annoying headstock “dive” or neck heaviness. The semi-hollowbody center-block design keeps the majority of the weight of this instrument where it should be: in your lap when sitting and at your waistline when standing.
The semi-hollowbody tone of the ’59 has a sonic signature all its own — with lots of midrange chime and jangle that pick up its low end when driven hard. In fact, the tone of the Danelectro ’59 is extremely versatile thanks to its pair of Vintage ’50s single-coil lipstick pickups. These perky, plucky pickups are low output and handle fuzz and distortion with equal aplomb. With coils wrapped around an Alnico VI magnet and then wrapped in tape, these pickups truly take you back to rock ’n’ roll’s formative years! The Danelectro ’59 also comes with a 3-way pickup selector, plus stacked volume and tone controls for each pickup, giving you plenty of options for dialing in your tone.
The Danelectro ’59 series also features premium appointments that enhance tone and playability. A real bone nut and premium Gotoh 15:1 tuning machines work in tandem to elevate the resonance and tuning stability. Gorgeous maple necks with smooth pau ferro fingerboards offer incredible response and playing comfort. Wraparound, adjustable bridges are also a staple on the Danelectro ’59 series, offering players a cornucopia of customizable intonation settings.
