This Value-packed Bass Is Loaded with Features

Loaded with professional features, the Yamaha TRBX604FM offers incredible value in a bass guitar. A classic tonewood combination of solid alder and stunning flamed maple delivers punch, bite, and sustain by the truckload. A comfortable 5-piece maple/mahogany neck combines excellent playability with superior tone and stability. Experience maximum sonic flexibility, by way of the TRBX604FM's YGD H5 pickups and audiophile-grade active/passive 3-band EQ. Beyond that, a high-mass die-cast bridge and innovative headstock design provide optimal vibration transfer and tuning stability. A battery-alert LED and satin matte finish round out the impressive TRBX604FM.

A classic tonewood recipe

The TRBX604FM is built from quality tonewoods. A solid alder body provides a balanced yet punchy foundation for this bass's tone, yielding equal doses of lows, mids, and highs. A stunning flamed maple top frames the TRBX604FM's basic tone with brightness, bite, and sustain. And the added snap and warmth provided by its 5-piece rosewood-capped maple/mahogany neck are the final ingredients in the TRBX604FM's classic tonal recipe.

Flexible active 3-band EQ

The bassists here at Sweetwater appreciate the clean, open tone exhibited by the TRBX604FM's dual YGD H5 pickups. Plug in, and you'll experience ample output and dynamic sensitivity, by way of these pickups' quad-pole-piece design and robust Alnico V magnets. Beyond that, the TRBX604FM is loaded with an audiophile-grade active/passive 3-band EQ. This flexible circuit offers a level-matched output in both passive or active modes, and tone-switching circuitry that moves seamlessly from treble control to master passive tone. And as an added bonus, a battery-alert LED prevents unexpected power losses when you're performing onstage.

Comfortable 5-piece maple/mahogany neck

If you're searching for extreme comfort, you'll enjoy playing the TRBX604FM. Its TRBX neck design combines a comfortable profile with 5-piece maple/mahogany construction for excellent tone and stability. This bass's refined neck joint reflects the perfect balance of strength, vibration transfer, and upper-fret access. And you'll benefit from superior tuning stability and reduced overtones, thanks to a headstock that virtually eliminates lateral string tension.

Reviews

No buyers remorse here!
I'm very happy with the purchase of this Yamaha guitar. I was slightly skeptical at first but after examining the construction and playing the guitar I realized what a solid product it is. It's great looking and great sounding.
Yamaha TRBX604 is incredible
Thank you Sweetwater for an incredible bass. Thank you for your 55-point inspection. When I got the bass, the first brand new bass I have owned btw, I thought I was going to be in for some work when it got here. I was dead wrong. Even when I put new slightly higher gauge strings on it, the intonation was right on. String height, no fret buzz. Speaking of frets...smooth and not one sharp edge. I couldn't be happier right now with this bass. I was used to my Ibanez with the Big S 4 nordstrands, which are bright.

I played this TRBX604 and the tone...the one was warm, vintage, and still punch through. I can't wait to play it at church. From payment to my door, two days...just two days. Thank you for the free shipping and it was packed nice and tight. Great job all the way around. Thank you for this bass. Thank you for taking the time to perfect it and pack it and get it to me so quickly. This is my first purchase with Sweetwater.

What an Awesome Instrument!!
This is well among my best instrument purchases to-date, if not the very best. It has a great feel and playability, and the versatility is beyond any other bass I've played. The ability to switch between active and passive modes provides great peace of mind when it comes to playing live (you always have an instant fallback if batteries go out on you), and the EQ in active mode gives a fantastic range of tone options. The tuning stability is better than any other instrument I own, and my original setup adjustments have held for the entire 11 months I've had it. I personally love the way this one feels and sounds with Earnie Ball Cobalt Alloy Flat-Wounds, and that is how I have played it a majority of the time, but I'm sure it can do well with anything you want to put on it.

I hate going to my job knowing I could be playing this instead
I don't normally write reviews. I've had this guy for three days now and am blown away. Yamaha craftsmanship was always talked about but now I get to experience it. I like the lightweight nature (easy for long gigs), the finish is beautiful, and the pickups are amazing.

With the neck pickup all the way up and the tone rolled all the way off, I got this bass to sound just like my pbass (I like the tone on the Yamaha even more). Now I chose this to play old mowtown and soul tracks rather than my fender p bass.

With the bridge pickup all the way up and the tone all the way on, I got this guy sounding super funky and use to play vulfpeck and chic songs. I'm truly blown away by the pickups and wide range of tones on this bass.

Absolutely no regrets. I am writing this review from work just wishing I could be home playing instead.
Blown Away! Incredible Quality
This is the best bass I've ever played, hands down. It beats out others more than twice the price. The versatility is remarkable, and it's an absolute joy to play in any genre. It's also absolutely stunning, which inspires me to pick up and play more often. Get this bass.
