Stripped-down Looks and Big Tone!

The 5-string Schecter Riot-5 Session bass gives you big bass in a cool, stripped-down package. The aged natural look shows off a sweet swamp ash body and maple neck. If you're not into flamed, figured, hoity-toity tops and gaudy bling, then this is the bass for you. You'll love the pair of EMG pickups and the 3-band active EQ; this setup lets you conjure practically any kind of bass tone you want - and plenty of it. Top-grade components keep this bass in stable tune, for worry-free performance. To quote one of our favorite ship captains, "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts!" Check out the Schecter Riot-5 Session bass today!

A quality bass with stripped-down looks

Sometimes less is more, and the Schecter Riot-5 Session bass is no exception. The stripped-down cosmetics give this bass a no-frills look, but nothing could be further from the truth. Schecter loaded this beast with a pair of EMG pickups and an 18-volt 3-band active EQ, so you can nail every tone under the sun. The rugged hardware is ready for all the abuse you can dish out. The black hardware and fretboard inlays, played against the natural finish of the Schecter Riot-5 Session bass, give this bass a cool look that will command attention at any gig.

Humbucking EMG pickups deliver hot bass tones

This bass is ready for a workout. Schecter put a pair of EMG pickups in the Riot-5 Session bass to make sure it could handle anything that was thrown at it. The EMG 35DC ("Dual Coil") uses parallel coils and an ultra-low-noise preamp to give you premium performance with very low noise. For more midrange growl and punch, Schecter included the EMG 35J in the bridge position. Take it from Sweetwater's bass players, these EMG pickups deliver big bass tones while being extremely quiet. No matter what type of gig or session you're at, the Schecter Riot-5 Session bass has the tones you need.

Powerful 3-band EQ lets you dial in the perfect tone

When you need a specific tone for a session, there's nothing like an active EQ. The Schecter Riot-5 Session bass sports a powerful 18-volt 3-band EQ that gives you more headroom and a smoother low end. From funk to jazz to nu-metal, the Riot-5 Session's EQ has the tone-sculpting power you need in a bass.

Schecter Riot-5 Session 5-string Bass Guitar Features:

  • Comfortable contoured swamp ash body with stripped-down cosmetics
  • Active EMG pickups deliver a broad range of tone
  • Active 18-volt 3-band EQ circuit lets you dial in the perfect bass sound
  • Schecter Custom string-through-body/top-load bridge
  • Grover bass tuners

Reviews

Outstanding 5 String Bass
I've been having an awesome time playing this outstanding 5 string bass, at an outstanding price. Only thing I was worried about was how light the color was in the pictures, but it looks much darker in person, a good looking natural wood look. I play heavy metal and this is a beast, nice deep tone. Great body style, nice fret inlays, pickups have a bright tone and/or a deep tone, depends on how you use/blend them and also which pedals/effects you may use. You string it through the body, which gives it more sustain or you can go through the bridge if you prefer to do so. I am incredibly happy with this bass, best one I've ever owned at this price point. A lot of bang for your buck.
Music background: Playing bass since 1996
Goodness What A Bass!!!!!!!
Absolutely Killer bass.
Don't even need to mention the price, which is silly low, for what is on offer here.

If you want a 5 string Bass, get one of these.
One of the best basses I've ever played.
And my new favorite.

Ummm... wtf Schecter??? How is this possible?
I bought a Schecter 9 string recently and absolutely love that guitar. So when looking for a bass my mind immediately thought of Schecter once again. How on earth the people at Schecter make such great instruments for the money is beyond me. This plays like an instrument worth triple the price. Glad I snagged one before sweetwater ran out!
Wow!
Surprised they're aren't a lot of reviews for this instrument. Great quality bass and premium boutique look and sound. It feels like a quality instrument and plays like a custom boutique bass. I get a lot of compliments on the look of it alone, it looks like it's been carved right out of a tree. Fretboard is flat 12 radius and playability with ease is at 100% and the eq flat sounds amazing. Its build quality is also at 100%, also pretty lightweight compared to a 5 string jazz bass.
WOW!
This bass was recommended. The tone blew me away after it was plugged in. I ordered this model and Sweetwater had it to my house within a DAY. Then, it was out to buy a gig bag and off to the bar for a test run. Everyone raved about the look of the bass when the gig bag was opened, but nothing could have prepared me for what came afterwards. The EMG Humbucker pickups had that nice, chunky sound you usually hear coming from Music Man basses. What was best of all however, was the high-end clarity along with the fact that you did not lose the low-end 'boom'. This bass knocked my (and everyone else's) socks off at the gig.
Music background: Many years spent playing in cover bands.
