What are PRS SE Speed Knobs used for?

These PRS SE Speed Knobs are designed to replace or upgrade the volume and tone controls on your electric guitar. Their ergonomic design allows for quick and precise adjustments during live performances or studio sessions. They provide a comfortable grip, making it easy to dial in your desired sound with a simple flick of the wrist, enhancing your playing experience.

How do I install these Speed Knobs on my guitar?

Installing PRS SE Speed Knobs is typically straightforward as they are designed as direct replacements for the original knobs on most PRS SE models. Gently push the knob onto the pot shaft until it's seated firmly. If it feels too loose, you can carefully pinch the split shaft slightly. If too tight, ensure proper alignment. For any installation questions, your Sweetwater Sales Engineer can offer personalized gear advice.

Are these knobs compatible with non-PRS guitars?

While designed for PRS SE models, these Speed Knobs are generally compatible with most guitars that use standard split-shaft potentiometers. It's always a good idea to check the shaft type of your guitar's existing pots to ensure a proper fit. They are a popular choice for many electric guitars due to their classic look and functional design.

What makes "Speed Knobs" different from other guitar knobs?

Speed Knobs are characterized by their smooth, rounded top and ribbed sides, which allow for quick, effortless adjustments with just a finger or two. Unlike traditional bell or dome knobs that might require a full grip, speed knobs enable rapid changes to volume or tone settings, making them ideal for dynamic playing styles and on-the-fly sound shaping.
