In this video I am demonstrating the Pearl Chad Smith Signature Snare Drum. This is a great rock snare drum made for Chad Smith and it really gives off a nice feel, sound, and vibe – all necessary things for a great snare drum. It was carefully designed to meet the standards that Chad Smith requires. He is a hard hitter, and this snare delivers a cracking and powerful sound and that is really nice to play on.
The drum is a 5″ x 14″ rolled steel shell with a black nickel-plated finish. The 2.3mm SuperHoop II hoops along with the brass shell really bring out the tone and volume of the drum. Added to that are the Cl-55 “Bridge Style” minimum-contact lugs, a “Gladstone Style” Vertical Pull Throw-off, and precision-fit stainless steel tension rods with solid brass receivers. All high-end hardware pieces that all come together for one rocking snare drum!
