Now in stock at Sweetwater is Digidesign’s MIDI I/O. This USB MIDI interface has ten MIDI inputs and outputs for a total of 160 channels and includes support for the upcoming Digidesign Time-Stamping feature that will enable better timing accuracy within Pro Tools. In attempt to keep all of our inSync audience up to date with the overwhelmingly popular Mackie Control, here’s the latest updates on software implementation and overlays for the Mackie Control at a glance.
1. Steinberg has just posted Version 1.61 of Nuendo that has the first implementation of Mackie Control support. This implementation does not yet cover the Mackie Control Extender, which should be completed in the next couple of weeks. 2. Steinberg Cubase SX is supposed to post Version 1.03 very soon in support of Mackie Control. Continue to look for the downloadable Version 1.03 at: http://service.steinberg.net/webdoc.nsf/show/updates_pc_e
3. MOTU is currently in beta for the release of Version 3.1 of Digital Performer, which offers complete Mackie Control and Mackie Control Extender support. 4. Cakewalk is anticipating a release of SONAR 2 that supports the Mackie Control before the end of September 2002. Keep posted to the following for all download info for SONAR 2. http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/SONAR/default.asp
5. Mackie is now shipping both the Steinberg (for both Nuendo and Cubase SX) and MOTU (for Digital Performer) Lexan overlays in every Mackie Control box. This will cover all current support for the Mackie Control.
