The end of a multi-conductor snake, where the individual wires contained inside the snake break out to a separate connector for each wire. A snake may have a fan-out on each end (one with male connectors and one with female connectors) or, as is common with stage snakes, the stage end of the snake may have a box that contains all the jacks for connecting microphones and instruments, while the mixer end of the snake has a fan-out for connecting the snake to the individual inputs and outputs on the console.
