Morpheus DropTune Pitch Drop Pedal Reviews
This is cool. The Morpheus DropTune lets you instantly drop the tuning of your entire guitar — no need to deal with tuning instability, floppy string buzz, super-heavy strings, or buying another guitar. By engaging the Morpheus DropTune, you can drop your tuning in 1/2-step decrements... all the way up to 3-1/2 steps. Plus, there's a full octave and octaver onboard. Best yet, Morpheus' patented algorithm keeps your tone harmonically accurate, with all of those overtones you'd expect. You've got to try DropTune out for yourself.

Wow, this thing is AWESOME!
I'm pretty much strictly a bedroom player, so I may not be as critical or have the experience as some (or many) others, but this pedal flat out rocks.
I now have the ability to learn/play along with riffs/songs in different tunings without having to have an assortment of guitars with different tunings sitting around. It's great to be able to change tunings at the literal push of a button.
For the price of this pedal, you just can't go wrong!
a God Send
i play riffy heavy stuff primarily in Drop B and Drop B flat (www.myspace.com/malakiband) and this is going to save me thousands on guitars. I just need my main and a back up, and I can switch between tunings in a heartbeat. I dont lose any tonality (im a tone nut, VHT CL etc) and it tracks amazingly fast. I've even recorded with it.
Bottom line: Pick the tension and tuning you like best and drop from there. BUY IT.
Holy Crap this is good
I can't believe what this thing can do. I have an advanced copy and am looking forward to buying another one for a buddy as soon as it is available. It is hard to believe that someone pulled this off! Awsome piece of equipment
Morpheus Droptune
Great little pedal !!! Going to work well for what i need it for...1/2 step down for gigs. At the half step level it's very real. I find the Octaver very nice as well but just wish it had an adjustment for wet and dry signal strength. Love it though. Other band members are jeolous now.
awesome unit
I ordered only 2 after the rep demo'ed the item for me. I should have gotten lots more.
Love the Drop Tune
Out of the box and easy to use. No need for the manual. Pretty self explanatory. Although, I love playing all my guitars, no more need for switching them up. I just leave my guitar tuned standard and can fly through all our songs.
I play blues, classic rock and mainstream rock and this thing does the job. I even dropped it down to play some Pantera and it was great. Does not seem to alter my sound, but I only ever need to go down 1 step. Octaver was nice and I seem some use for it in the near future. Only downfall was no batteries, but I can live with that.
Praise the LOWERED!
I don't drop tune often enough to justify leaving one of my guitars setup that way or when i get the whim to chug around to completely change one of my guitars. Enter the DropTune. This thing is perfect if you don't like setting up guitars, or using gigantic strings. The octaver works great and tracks better than any other octaver I've used. It's works incredibly well for dropping you're tuning down to the depths of Hades. Every harmonic and squeal are exactly where they should be. I know ppl that gig with it using 7 & 8 string guitars. I use a Jim Root tele to occasionly play some spliknot or something in Eb or drop C. It works perfectly and the ocataver goes great with a strat for Hendrix type tones. Check it out! you won't be disappointed
Convenient Device
It's not perfect, but it saves me from manually tuning and re-tuning my guitar from one song to another. I don't usually drop the pitch lower than about a whole step or so. After that, there's too much loss of tone and delay for me personally. To get around that, I keep two guitars close by. One tuned to standard E and another tuned to standard C. I'll use my E tuned guitar and drop it to Eb and D and my C tuned guitar to drop to B. Five tunings in two guitars!
Likable, not Lovable
Def some digital artifacting (i.e. flanging(jet-sound) most notably, also stepping/stuttering sustain when letting notes ring out/decaying.) Most heard when using distortion, other effects almost totally unaffected.
Still, worth the money and good enough for a cover band. But I'm not a ratard (crazy audiophile) that needs a perfect sound to play out in - oh, not an arena, a bar. This pedal is designed for it's target audience, bar musicians.
Just another tool in the arsenal, would not use for recording which I'm sure it's not designed for.
Octave setting is pretty awesome sounding, almost none of the original note is heard.
Not as good as expected
This might be a good pedal for metal guys but I am more of a blues based player looking to drop a 1/2 step. It definitely has a lag that you can feel when playing and the sound is slightly muddier with a high end loss. Some poepl might not notice it depending on your gear. I use high end amps that you can hear everything. The octavier is not bad but no way to adjust the dry sound/effect. The more you drop the worse it gets. When bending notes or using vibrato it really loses it too. Please keep in mind I am very critical. The worst part for me was the latency, some may describe it as minimal but to me anything that makes you feel weird about your playing is not worth it. Maybe it will get beeter on a future release but to me its just not there. That and there isnt really a replacment for the feel of tuning down.
