Gretsch Magic - Again

By Michael from Anchorage on March 18, 2024 Music Background: Long-time guitar player

I own and actually love playing my Gretsch Baritone. When I purchased it - I wasn't quite sure what I'd be getting into - what I've found out is that I wish I'd gotten it a lot sooner. Easy to handle, fun to play, and I'd get another in a nano-second. In fact, though I have several very nice, and more expensive guitars, I've that the sound, the quality, and the handling of this model of Gretsch truly makes it a first choice.

In love

I am originally a bass player and wanted an electric guitar I could down-tune to get a really beefy low end sound. This guitar has worked incredibly well and easily lived up to my expectations. It's versatile, fun to play, has a beautiful tone and I can get super low with it while still maintaining tension and definition. I'm in love. This Gretsch baritone has been well worth the modest price tag for what you get.

WOW...Wow .... Wow!

By Jack Hemby from GREENVILLE, TX on August 1, 2022

Ok.... So I went back and forth on "Do I really need this guitar?" I am lucky to have a nice collection of some great guitars but had been doing some research on baritones and what they can do. Looked at the current Danelectro (pretty cool) and others but the Gretsch kept popping up in Best of Reviews so began to settle in on considering one and boy am I glad I followed through. First off the Imperial Stain model is a beauty. When I unpacked her and strapped her on I actually laughed out loud. I could feel the low end actually in my chest ....unamplified. Add some reverb and tremolo and she transports you to a different time warp. Straight up you could easily play out some great bass lines on first four strings. Inspiration wise this ax is leading me to some pretty great places. This instrument plays like a dream. Didn't think I would be this impressed but boy am I ever. Gretsch really stepped up here. The build is perfect.
Do I recommend this instrument....Oh Heck Yes!!
Thanks to Cameron Green for walking me through this most rewarding purchase!

I don't know much about baritones, but this thing slaps

By Wesley Bryant from Frisco, TX on June 28, 2022 Music Background: Permanent amateur

I love it. Tunes b to b, it plays like a dream. Finish is very dark, but classy. Mini humbuckers are dark, deep, and moody. If you're considering dipping your toe into baritones, this is a great buy.
