EVH Guitars Put Eddie’s Vision in Your Hands
EVH guitars represent the best of Eddie’s many contributions to the player community. These Fender-made axes feature sculpted necks, souped-up pickups & hardware, and styles & finishes inspired by the man himself.
We’re not just talking Superstrats and Wolfgangs, either. Today’s diverse EVH guitar lineup spans poster-accurate replicas to chambered semi-hollows, with models priced and spec’d for players at every level. Use the guide below to find the guitar that’s right for you!
Why Are EVH Guitars on a Whole Other Level?
There will never be another player like Eddie. Equal parts electro-scientist and arena-rock showman, Eddie paired his pyrotechnic fretboard skills with an ear for hooks and a hunger for tone. His restless sonic experiments changed the game for generations of players and remain a rare gift to the guitar community at large. That’s why we’re thrilled to see his riff-making legacy live on in the EVH guitar lineup. Manufactured by Fender, EVH guitars are loaded with Eddie’s personal touches, including:
- EVH humbuckers voiced for power and precision
- Fast-playing neck profiles and compound-radius fingerboards
- EVH-branded Floyd Rose tremolos and D-Tuna drop-tuning devices
- Performance-focused body contours inspired by Eddie’s custom instruments
Which EVH Guitar Model Suits Your Playing Style?
EVH guitars aren’t just for hard rock fans. They’re for anyone drawn to fast necks, hot pickups, and Eddie’s trailblazing spirit. Whether you’re a brown-sound purist or a tech death gain junkie, there’s an EVH model for you. Here’s how to find your match.
Note: The EVH guitar lineup is always growing! Check back often for the latest models and finishes.
EVH Wolfgang Guitars
Eddie’s most recognizable ground-up signature, the Wolfgang, remains the cornerstone of the EVH guitar lineup. These single-cut offsets typically feature dual direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbuckers, comfort-cut forearm contours, and EVH-branded Floyd Rose bridges. Available in Wolfgang Standard, Wolfgang Standard Exotic (figured top), Wolfgang Special, and Wolfgang USA models.
EVH Striped Series Guitars
These “Frankenstrats” are inspired by Eddie’s custom-modded and hand-taped “S”-style guitars, such as the Frankie and Bumblebee. Available with or without a replica relic treatment, they pack EVH Wolfgang or Frankenstein pickups and a rock-ready layout that reflects the original’s DIY spirit.
EVH 5150 Guitars
If Eddie’s banana-headed arena rockers hold a special place in your heart, the EVH 5150 guitar series is for you. Rocking dual EVH Wolfgang humbuckers and a classic beaky look, these guitars deliver the aggressive feel of Eddie’s later-era designs. Many models include an EVH D-Tuna for instant drop-D tuning and a kill switch to cop Eddie’s classic “You Really Got Me” rhythmic stutters.
EVH Star Guitars
Fans of Eddie’s X-shaped X-periments will feel right at home with the EVH Star. This early-era chimera features a Charvel Star body with a bridge-position EVH Wolfgang humbucker for pummeling riff power, a Floyd Rose tremolo for divebombs galore, and an onboard kill switch for glitch-tastic taps and leads. A matching Coke-bottle headstock modernizes the look of the one-of-a-kind alien axe.
EVH SA-126 Guitars
Wolfgang Van Halen’s first-ever EVH signature guitar is the SA-126. If you’re a fan of Wolf’s, you already know which alt-rock frontman’s signature semi-hollow the EVH SA looks to for inspiration. Its 24.75-inch scale, quad-knobbed layout, and chambered body deliver stage authority and couch-to-control-room versatility. Thanks to its Tim Shaw–designed EVH SA-126 humbuckers, this cross-platform classic has no trouble handling everything from glassy cleans to fire-breathing fury. Available in Standard and Special models.
