It is the guitar I expected.

By Brandi K.L. Prime from Bakersfield, CA on November 13, 2023 Music Background: Composer

I've been denying myself for a long while. I finally have a sweet guitar that I truly enjoy playing. Every other guitar that I've owned has felt like I've been settling in some way. Not with this one. It sounds amazing, it feels great to play, and it looks magnificent. My only real complaint isn't a complaint about the guitar itself, but more an adjustment I had to make to playing on something with a Floyd Rose bridge, but thankfully, there's a lot of resources for learning on that. These guitars are fantastic. I can't find enough good things to say about mine.

Wonderful guitar, especially for the price!

I've waited a couple months after I bought this guitar to get a complete review. And what a wonderful couple of months it has been. The roasted maple neck is a buttery smooth experience. The sounds from both the Neck and Bridge from both clean and dirty are what you would expect from an EVH. The build quality is top notch. As a lover of Floyd Rose trems, It's refreshing to have one that isn't floating too. And as a special bonus, the quilted maple top is beautiful.

If you wondering if you should buy the EVH Wolfgang Special QM, wonder no more. Buy it and you WILL love it.

I really like the looks of the colors with the gold hardware that made this one special and I think they are very underrated for the price it plays great.

Love This Guitar

Had this on pre-order and was not expecting it for months but Andy called me up and told me somebody ahead of me on the waitlist didn't want it so lucky me!
I've always wanted to try a EVH guitar and this one did not disappoint in any way. The neck plays great, the pickups sound great, the low friction volume knob is beyond awesome as is the Whammy (which is made to only dive down as per Eddies wishes). All the electronics work great and the D-tuna is awesome for being able to play along with all the VH classics!
I cannot comment enough on the color and finish. Its gorgeous. The color is awesome, the binding is awesome, the gold hardware is awesome..its just such a joy to play. I have only two minor knocks against this guitar.
1. At this price point, locking tuners would have been nice.
2. I was getting buzzing from the tuners when hitting the open G or B strings...turns out the top nut/washer of the tuners on those strings was not sitting flat against the neck and the washer would buzz. I have some paper jammed under it for now to stop the buzz until a string change when I can figure out a way to make sure the tuners are tight all the way around.

Very Glad I decided to try this guitar! It will probably become my main go-to guitar...

I love this rig!

Been playing forever but never really learned to play any EVH, so I thought I would give it a try….

First off it's beautiful….

I can't believe how easy it is to play… I have an embarrassing amount of guitars and this is the easiest by far.

It sounds fantastic. When I plugged it into a Plexi, I thought at first that I had unexpectedly left a chorus pedal on, but I didn't. The guitar has an almost symphonic sound, in a very very good way. The pickups are dark.

The Wolfgang Special body size is small…like really small. Again, a good thing, as I too am really small. The downsize is that the overpriced EVH hardcase is the only one (I have) that will fit properly.

My only complaint is that it arrived with significant fret sprout (as I've discovered is a trend from the Fender Mexico factory). I nearly returned it but the guitar is fantastic in every other way so it stayed. I have the ability to fix the fret sprout, but Fender is a galactic pain in the you know what when it comes to getting your warranty voided.

Still, this is one wonderful guitar.

First week with my EVH Wolfgang Special

Bottom line, gorgeous guitar. Packaging and Shipping always as expected.

Preparation prior to shipping should be reviewed. Very minor hardware missing (tremolo spring cover missing 2 screws). Upon first inspection of the guitar, all tuning mounting lugs very loose. Strings had slight corrosion. Most noticable was the fret edges; very sharp and uncomfortable to play. For a mid-range priced guitar, I didn't expect that kind of workmanship in any neck.

The Floyd Rose tremolo with the D-Tuna has no issues. I would have loved to have seen a deeper cavity in the body to allow for back bends and lower string height.

EVH pickups are fine and sound good. Pickups only allow very minor height adjustment.

After about 2 days of fret edge dressing, installation of Hipshot locking tuners, new strings and tremolo setup, etc., I find this guitar is very hard to put down. Again, it's a very beautiful guitar (and now a very playable and comfortable guitar!)

Not worth the money

No quality control whatsoever...every fret needed finished.it removed skin when i first picked it up..setup is terrible...floyd rose sucks..drop d too difficult to pull or push..you have a flat bridge with a 16 in radius neck..strings too high on outside fretting out in the middle..no adjustments other than shimming under the saddles..this by far is the Worst guitar ever purchased..i am returning it today...piece of crap wolfgang..you should be ashamed for putting out crap...
