Amazing EVH Wolfgang Guitar!!!

By Calvin Simmons from Saint Cloud, FL on July 21, 2023

Words can't perfectly describe how awesome this guitar is. EVH knocked it out of the park with this and I'm in awe. Was shipping well, arrived in top notch condition and played perfectly right out of the box. The guitar is absolutely flawless. Great job EVH and great job Sweetwater! Jimmy Hart was awesome, as always! I highly recommend this guitar to others and also highly recommend Sweetwater! Thank you again!

EVH Wolfgang USA Stealth - This guitar is amazing!!!!

By Bryan Easton from Illinois on March 10, 2023

I've had my eye on this guitar for a long time, but I'd never had the chance to play one since I've never found them in stock at any store. I've always had a great experience buying at Sweetwater and my rep, Craig Edgar is fantastic!

I finally decided to pull the trigger and pick one up and I am just amazed at how good this guitar is. Everything about this guitar is built for speed and playability. The setup is flawless and the neck is fast and comfortable, and moving around the fretboard is effortless. The finish is perfect and everything on this guitar from the fast neck to the controls, the DTuna, on the Floyd work perfectly. I've played this through several amps and configurations and it sounds great through everything I have tried so far.

Having been an EVH fan for most of my life, this is an amazing guitar to play and well worth it. I haven't touched any of my other guitars (Strat, LP, PRS) since I bought this guitar. Truly a gem!

Unbelievable guitar

By Mark from North Carolina on December 30, 2022

I have been looking at this guitar for years, but the price tag kept me from pulling the trigger (that and the fact no store locally has one). I had purchased a guitar earlier in the summer (Garrhett Kidd was my sales engineer and was great) and has such a good experience I had confidence in Sweetwater. After looking at the guitar for the 300th time or so, I noticed a 10 percent discount, and that was enough for me to order it in August or so. Fast forward to December and it arrived.

The fit and finish is flawless and it is beautiful. The black matte looks fantastic. I was not a huge fan of the eyelet strap connector, but is is very secure when combined with the EVH strap and it is growing on me. The tones from the two pickups are amazing, and between pickup changes, and tone/volume knob changes, the number of different tones I have found is impressive (I am playing it directly through a Marshall amp - have not even tried pedals yet). The D-tuna works well for immediate drop D tuning. Between that and using the Floyd-Rose tremolo, I have not had to retune it yet. Setup and intonation from Sweetwater was perfect. Playing artificial harmonics is easy, and I have never had a guitar where playing natural harmonic all over the fretboard was easy until now. It is FAST and EFFORTLESS to play (neck is incredible and comfortable). I thought the kill switch was a bit gimmicky and I would not use it - but admittedly I have used it (it increases the fun factor). The guitar is light, and playing it for hours is not a problem.

Overall, I am overjoyed with this guitar. I have always been a huge Eddie Van Halen fan, and the fact this is the culmination of years of his innovation makes playing it even more special. I hardly ever leave reviews, but this guitar is so special, it deserves one. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Awesome

By Mike from PHELAN, CA on December 16, 2021

This is the best guitar I have played. It sounds great, very easy to play. I am (or was) a Les Paul guy, I have 6 custom shop LPs customs and standards, Jackson USA RR1 & Adrian Smith, Charvel JEL, PRS Custom etc. I had this guitar in my cart prior to EVH passing the day he passed I was checking out and it was sold. It was worth the wait. It came set up perfectly. Thanks to sales engineer Todd Cotten for his help and advice. Eddie did a great job designing this beast. All I can say is WOW. The price compared to what I paid for the LP custom shop guitars this is a steal. I never thought I would prefer any guitar over LPs, guess I was wrong.

Very Fast Neck, awesome warm humbucking tones!

By Paul Lipford from CA on December 15, 2021

I own a Les Paul and a Strat, and this is like a hybrid combination of the 2 of them. Very light guitar, very fast neck, plays as smooth as butter. Thank you Mike Baldondo for helping me out with a purchase of this fine instrument! Very worth the year-long wait!

Built for comfort, performance, tone, and total badassery!

By Harley from Pekin, IL on November 17, 2021 Music Background: 30+ Years on guitar

I ordered mine a week or two after EVH's passing. My girlfriend and I were sitting around watching Van Halen performances, and she said, "That is the most awesome guitar I've ever seen." I play mostly Les Pauls (I have 15.), a 345, and I have an ESP, some Jacksons, PRS and various other odds n ends. I've been playing for over 30 years. After my 358 day wait, she finally came home to me. I have to say, this is one of the best built, best sounding, and sturdy instruments I've ever played. I'd not hesitate to buy more of them. I can get this guitar to do absolutely anything I want it to. It is truly stunning to unbox. I could still smell the ocean water on the body for the first few days. The first two days of owning it, I likely plays 38+ hours. I just could not set it down. I could not be happier with my purchase. I'd like to also thank Austin Zachrich, my Sweetwater rep, for hooking me up with this fine instrument. He has taken care of every musical need for me the last couple of years; great job Austin!!

If you second guess this guitar on price, think again;. It is worth every cent. Thank you for the fine instrument Mr. EVH!

BEST GUITAR...EVER!!!!!!!!

By Larry from Bedford, IN on August 30, 2020

Hands down the best guitar I've ever picked up! I have 5 Les Pauls, 3 Strats, and I'm pretty sure they will rot in their cases. Everything about the EVH is perfect. Eddie once said everything he learned in over 35 years of building guitars went into this one. Well, all I can say is it worked. Everything from the playability to the tones you can achieve is spot on. All I can say is THANK YOU EDDIE!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Just wow!

By John Hirst from Bedford, VA on September 22, 2018

Let me start off by saying that I own 20 guitars. Gibson les Paul standard hp, fender american deluxe Strat, PRS custom P24, Jackson"s, deans, Charvel, etc etc. hands down this guitar is in my top 2 if not the best guitar I have now. I see why people say it"s a cross between a les Paul and a Strat. I did my research on this guitar before buying it.
On with what I found when it was delivered and pulled out of the case.
Upon picking it up I found that"s it"s lighter then I expected. The length of the neck shorter and more compfortable to play, being that it is set deeper into the body than other guitars. This by no means that it"s harder to play at the last couple of frets. The lower cut away gives perfect playability with no stress on the wrist or fingers. The quarter sawed maple neck with ebony fretboard feels great and reminds me of my les Paul but the strings bend like butter like my Strat. I didn"t mind the stainless steel frets. They feel good. Top quality job and a joy to play on. The drop D tuna works great and stays in tune when used. Great feature I admit. Never had one before.
The Matt black finish is beautiful and a lot better in person than what pics have shown. It sounds great, looks great, plays great.
Not disappointed at all. Comes in a hard shell case with strap, key, bar and wrenches.
If your looking for a guitar that you"ll never get rid of or trade I"d highly recommend this one.
Sweetwater was great and the service was impeccable as always. Thanks James! Your the best!
I can see why Eddie said 35 years of tinkering and changing went into this guitar. It shows.
