Value-packed Tele Custom with '60s Vibe

The Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom celebrates one of the world's most instantly recognizable guitars, with added modern features. Boasting a nato body with a classic finish and top binding, an Indian laurel fingerboard, and a parchment pickguard, the Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom harkens back to the Teles that launched a musical revolution, while two Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups serve up legendary Tele twang. Check out this Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom and tap into iconic Telecaster tone at an affordable price.

The '60s Tele experience

Certain electric guitars are credited with shaping modern music, and the 1960s Fender Telecaster Custom is certainly one of the most iconic of them all. With this Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom, you can have a similar vintage tone and look at a price that any guitarist can afford. From the 3-saddle string-through-body bridge and vintage-style tuners to the bound body and 3-ply parchment pickguard, this Tele is a smooth performer with unmistakable '60s vibe.

Custom set of alnico single-coil pickups

The discerning guitarists at Sweetwater know that to get a real vintage sound from a guitar, you need to start with great pickups. The Fender-designed alnico single-coil Tele pickups in the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom nail those classic tones. You'll love the clear, punchy sounds, which are perfect for playing country, blues, jazz, rock, or pop. Sonically (and visually), these pickups extend the vintage appeal of this guitar.

Vintage appointments with modern playability

The parchment pickguard, body binding, alnico pickups, 3-saddle bridge, and vintage tuning keys cover the vintage side of things. But the 9.5" fingerboard radius gives you a comfortable playing surface that allows for wider string bends than the 7.25" radius of vintage guitars. While being rounded enough for comfortable chording, this radius is perfect for double-stop bends, wide vibrato, and even bends over a whole step. And the modern C-shaped neck feels just right, smoothing the way for fleet-fingered fretting.

Squier Classic Vibe '60s Telecaster Custom Features:

  • Nato body; gloss polyurethane finish
  • 3-ply parchment pickguard
  • Maple neck, "C" profile
  • Indian laurel fingerboard, 9.5" radius, dot inlays
  • 25.5" scale length, 21 Narrow Tall frets
  • Fender-designed alnico single-coil bridge and neck pickups
  • 3-way pickup selector; master Volume and Tone controls
  • 3-saddle string-through-body bridge
  • 1.65" bone nut
  • Vintage-style tuners

Reviews

The Perfect Guitar to Mod.

The guitar was in perfect condition, right out of the box. The people who did the Sweetwater 55 point inspection couldn't have done it better. Intonation was perfect. first fret height was perfect. The nut was cut, and the top was filed perfectly, and all the frets were level. The guitar sounded very good, as soon as it was in tune, but I knew that some corners had to be cut, for Fender to sell it at its great price.

In order to turn this guitar into MY GUITAR, that played like a $ dollar guitar, I replaced the wiring harness, with one with full sized pots,, a treble bleed, and an electrosocket jack plate, and switchcraft jack. I also changed out the bridge pick up to a Fender vintage,reissue,62'with Alnico 3 magnets.

I also did some visual Mods, by changing to a black pick guard, black screws, and a black round string tree.

Larry Ivy took my order for the guitar, and a string swing holder, and I received the guitar, lightening Fast.

Music background: Played in a garage band in the 1960's. Started playing again after I got old and Retired.
Love mine! great neck!

These are3 really good guitars. I have $ Tele that is no better than this Classic vibe. Mine has a really good neck, it sings! Because they are so affordable, they are great to tweak, if you want better pickups. I did!

Music background: 50 years Austin musician
Good guitar. A few adds and its now a GREAT guitar

The look and feel of this guitar is outstanding. The neck feels very sweet. Straight out of the box it played good. After new strings, settingbpickup height and other setup it played really well. For $? A real value buy as-is.

But wait... Just 3 easy and modest $ upgrades and this guitar becomes amaing:

1. Upgrade the pickups to Fender's "Original Telecaster" pickups ($, aka '52 Real Vintage). This fixes the muddy of the neck and the brittle in the bridge giving the guitar incredible definition and dynamic range.

2. Upgrade to brass saddles . This adds a little sparkle and sustain.

3. Easy switch out of new wiring and new pots. This gives more headroom on th post and clear signal.

I love this telecaster! So a total investment of under $, I have a guitar that definitely compete and perhaps even Fenders in the $ range.

Classic Vibe for sure!
I love this thing. BIG bang for the bucks! Great quality.
Amazing Telecaster
Bought this from Sweetwater and loved it right out of the box. Decided to give it a complete makeover. Deglossed it with steel wool, Relic'd the hardware, replaced the tuners with vintage locking tuners. New electronics from 920D with series/parallel pull switch. New Porter T90 pickups. Added a Bigsby with a Reverand soft spring, new bone nut, & strap locks. This is now my favorite guitar. Everyone that plays it wants to buy it. I would put it up against any American Telecaster. Plays smooth as butter!
