Value-packed Tele with Vintage Vibe

The Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster celebrates one of the world's most instantly recognizable guitars, with added modern features. Boasting a pine body with a classic finish, the Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster harkens back to the original "black guard" Teles that started it all, while two Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups serve up legendary Tele twang. Check out this Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster and tap into iconic Telecaster sound at an affordable price.

Original "black guard" experience

Certain electric guitars are credited with shaping modern music, and the 1950s Fender "black guard" Telecaster may be the most iconic of them all. With this Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster, you can have a similar vintage tone and look at a price that any guitarist can afford. From the 3-saddle string-through-body bridge and vintage-style tuners to the single-ply black pickguard, this Tele is a smooth performer with unmistakable '50s vibe.

Custom set of alnico single-coil pickups

The discerning guitarists at Sweetwater know that to get a real vintage sound from a guitar, you need to start with great pickups. The Fender-designed alnico single-coil Tele pickups in the Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster nail those classic tones. You'll love the clear, punchy sounds, which are perfect for playing country, blues, jazz, rock, or pop. Sonically (and visually), these pickups extend the vintage appeal of this guitar.

Vintage appointments with modern playability

The black pickguard, alnico pickups, 3-saddle bridge, and vintage tuning keys cover the vintage side of things. But the 9.5" fingerboard radius gives you a comfortable playing surface that allows for wider string bends than the 7.25" radius of vintage guitars. While being rounded enough for comfortable chording, this radius is perfect for double-stop bends, wide vibrato, and even bends over a whole step. And the modern C-shaped neck feels just right, smoothing the way for fleet-fingered fretting.

Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster Features:

  • Pine body; gloss polyurethane finish
  • Maple neck, "C" profile
  • Maple fingerboard, 9.5" radius, dot inlays
  • 25.5" scale length, 21 Narrow Tall frets
  • Fender-designed alnico single-coil bridge and neck pickups
  • 3-way pickup selector; master Volume and Tone controls
  • 3-saddle string-through-body bridge
  • 1.65" nut
  • Vintage-style tuners

Incredible Value
The value you get from a $ Squire is beyond belief. My Classic Vibe Tele is flawless in both fit/finish and fretwork, and the setup only needed a small shim under the neck to get everything perfect. Fret rocker showed not a single area on any fret being out of spec. For $!
I'm not sure if the darker maple is from the clear or if it was just darker than regular maple, but it's absolutely gorgeous. I bought an American made Tele in the nice tweed case a few years ago from a local shop and brought it back due to horrible fit and finish, and fret problems. This is the only classic Telecaster I'll ever need! I will play with upgrading pickups, but the stock ones sound perfectly fine. This guitar is awesome!!
Check out that juicy glossy headstock, and the gorgeous dark maple, beautiful!
Just Buy This Guitar
I had been holding out for a Sire T7 for months and months but was losing patience. I wanted a QUALITY T style guitar without the Fender price tag. I finally landed on the Squier CV. Keep in mind, for my generation, Squier was basically considered the Wish.com version of Fender, so I was fully prepared to hate this guitar and return it from whence it came. My how times have changed.

This guitar is awesome!! The pickups sound great. Hotter than I was expecting. The pots and switch are solid and not cheap feeling. The tonal range between the positions is fairly broad without any change in volume like some entry level guitars. The neck is GORGEOUS! A little fatter than most which is perfect for me - not a shredder. I did immediately take a scotchbrite pad to the back of the neck and took some of the gloss off to make it smooth as silk. I love the translucent white finish. I chose this over the butterscotch because I enjoy swapping out the pickguard for a quick makeover. The white offers me a blank canvas. Already have a tortoiseshell guard at the ready next time I change strings.

Just buy this guitar already!!!
Perfect Guitar for Modding
The classic vibe series has great sounding guitars! I bought this guitar with the intent of modding it. The original pickups were decent, but I wanted to try something different. I got a Fralin Pure PAF for the neck and a Fralin High Output Tele pickup for the bridge, upgraded the pots to 500k, and I installed a push-pull switch to get an out-of-phase tone in the middle.

I went ahead and swapped the pickguard too and voila! I have a sub 8 lb, customized telecaster, and it didn't cost me over $4,000 to get it.

Modding mission accomplished!

Super Fantastic!
Where can I start? This guitar has given me it's all every time gig with it. I had my first start with the purchase of this guitar playing soul/R&B music. The melody it produces has a clean smooth tone to it just like any telecaster, although it is a squire fenderit delivers proficiently. Thank you Sweetwater!

NOT a cheap guitar
I always wanted to like Tele's but could never bond with them. Like most I kept hearing what a steal these were and a great platform to upgrade, which I figured I would once I played it. Well I came acriss a video of Jack Pearson raving about his unmodified Strat I was intruiged.
I just got through spending about 3 plus hours in my garage with this guitar, TS10 into a Deluxe Reverb and I got lost in time.
The only "mod" I ended up doing was some steel wool on the neck.
It stays in tune. Its quiet, the pickups are great and it plays like a dream! The volume has an a.azing taper and zero issue with any hardware. I found ONE flaw where the body was routed 1/32 too much on the bridge plate. I barely found it LOL.
Seriously I have very expensive guitars and some not so much. This may be my new favorite guitar, it really us that good. Maybe I just got lucky but I am loving it. About $2500 less than most of my others, go figure.
