Recognizable Style and Sound — at a Friendly Price!

Reliable construction materials, iconic design elements, and an affordable price point make the Squier Sonic Stratocaster one of the most popular first instrument picks around Sweetwater. Fit with a ceramic single-coil pickup and humbucker combo, a traditional 6-saddle tremolo, and a smooth-playing satin-finished neck, players will be as close as it gets to genuine Strat playability while benefiting from an assemblage of beginner-friendly features. Apart from providing charming good looks, this guitar’s S-style body shape and conventional bolt-on maple neck provide a solid playing foundation and reliable construction that will endure countless hours of use. Additionally, the Squier Sonic Stratocaster’s onboard control set encourages players to scratch every surface of potential guitar tone, proving a valuable asset no matter which play style you prefer. When making your first guitar decision, there’s something to be said about going with a timeless classic — reach for the stars with a Squier Sonic Stratocaster!

Authentic, reliable solidbody construction

The Squier Sonic Stratocaster bears the look and feel of a recognizable axe classic. Given its S-style poplar body, you’ll have no problem extracting rich guitar tones while maintaining comfortable positioning. Additionally, its satin-finished maple neck with a C-shape profile creates a smooth playing surface that, when paired with the body’s cutaway shape, grants easy access to all 21 frets. Finalized with durable chrome hardware, die-cast tuning machines, and an eye-catching gloss finish, the Squier Sonic Stratocaster makes a worthy addition to any musician’s instrument arsenal.

Single-coil/humbucking combo with versatile controls

Although the Stratocaster is famously known for its distinct high-end chime, the two ceramic single-coil pickups and a single humbucker in this Squier Sonic can produce a bevy of crystal-clear guitar tones. You’ll also find a master volume, two tone knobs, and a 5-way pickup selector switch. With this control center at hand, wavy chord progressions, articulate lead lines, and a well of other possible sounds are within your grasp. Toss in the Stratocaster’s proprietary vintage-style tremolo, and you’ll be serving expressive warbles and surf-inspired pitch bends in no time.

Squier Sonic Series: suitable selections for emerging guitarists

Ask any Sweetwater musician: whether you’re searching for your first instrument or a more affordable guitar option, Squier’s Sonic Series should be at the top of the list. Options ranging from classic Stratocasters to beefy Precision basses provide beginner musicians with all the essentials required to start their audial journey — without sacrificing sound quality. Likewise, a new, expanded library of color options and body styles ensures every musician can access the perfect instrument. Topped off with the same durable build and tonal capabilities as every other Squier instrument, the Sonic Series provides years of reliable and authentic performance to any player.

Reviews

Great axe
I have been playing Guitar for 58 years I have had many Strats , Les Pauls, SGs and Teles, this new squire is Awesome, plays Great , satin maple fret board is so smooth, pick ups are quite descent , I will probably put locking fender tuners on it for ease of changing strings, although it does stay in tune very well and I am a whammy freak. I really can't say anything bad about the Guitar and love the color!!!, Steve,

A Great Beginner Guitar!
So like the title of the review states, I am a beginner, but this isn't my first guitar. I had another guitar that I got back in 2014 when I originally wanted to learn how to play. I started briefly and then didn't pick it up for years until recently. Feeling serious about it now, and wanting to commit, I just wasn't satisfied with trying to learn on the cheaper guitar that I had. So I started looking at different guitars and specifically good beginner guitars. Stratocasters seem like a good middle of the road when it comes to finding something to suit your style. I'm glad I went with this one! It sounds great, I like the variety with the single coil pickups and the humbucker. It feels better in my hands too compared to my other guitar! I think I'll be keeping this one for a while.
This is it. You can stop looking.
There's really not much to be said. Plays well, sounds good, easy to maintain and upgrade. Action and intonation good enough out of the box to wait on a set up. The perfect beginner electric. The perfect platform for customization. I've had cheap guitars, and this is not that. Absolutely the best value I've personally experienced in a guitar.
Amazing value, just buy it
I got this on a whim, been wanting a Strat but couldn't find one that really spoke to me. The Coral is perfect, I love the HSS configuration, and the build quality is way beyond what I'd expect for the price point. I am using it as a mod platform as well, and the body is cut so that humbuckers could fit in any pickup position and there's plenty of room inside. Perfect for a project guitar, but also a delight to play out of the box.
