A Nashville-style Axe from Another Dimension

The Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster is unlike any instrument you've seen — or played — before. This unique-looking electric guitar is built around a double-bound, Strat-like poplar body, with a hand-filling "C"-shaped maple neck and a slick-playing, 21-fret laurel fingerboard. You get three alnico-loaded, single-coil pickups, in a typical Nashville Tele configuration, arming you with a veritable greatest-hits package of Fender-style tones. Moreover, 5-way switching supplies access to all the requisite "in between" settings, while a push-pull tone knob engages the neck pickup in positions one and two. Whatever your application, the Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat can deliver the right tone for the job. This attention-grabbing mashup also includes a 3-ply parchment Tele-style pickguard, vintage-style tuners, a reversed Tele control plate, and a 3-saddle strings-through-body Tele bridge. Players searching for one guitar that's a jack of all tones will be absolutely delighted by the Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster.

A well-appointed patchwork of parts

Squier pulled out all the stops with the Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster. For starters, it's built around a double-bound, Custom Telecaster-inspired, Strat-like body carved out of a solid hunk of poplar. The Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat includes a 3-ply parchment Tele-style pickguard and a reversed Tele control plate, along with rock-solid vintage-style tuning machines and a 3-saddle strings-through-body Tele bridge. Chrome-plated hardware and a spotlight-stealing gloss finish complete this head-turning solidbody electric guitar.

Versatile, alnico-loaded pickups

The Squier Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster comes loaded with three Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups. This guitar's bridge and neck pups deliver all the twang, bite, and snarl you'd expect from a high-quality set of Tele pickups. The third pickup expands your tonal options further, supplying you with the warm-yet-biting sound you'd get from a Strat's middle pickup. You get 5-way switching, and beyond that, a push-pull on the guitar's tone knob adds the neck pickup to positions one and two, unleashing even more sonic textures. If you're already a Tele player like many of us are here at Sweetwater, then you'll hear your guitar rig in a whole new light with the Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat.

Effortlessly playable neck

Navigating the Paranormal Custom Nashville Stratocaster's fretboard is almost too easy. Its bolt-on maple neck boasts a comfortable "C" shape that fills your hand nicely while also staying out of your way. This guitar's laurel fingerboard features a modern-feeling 9.5-inch radius, with 21 narrow-tall frets for fleet-fingered playability and silky smooth bends. The Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat also includes a synthetic bone nut and classy pearloid dot fingerboard inlays.

Reviews

Paranormal Nashville Stratocaster
This guitar is awesome. I really like Telecasters, but their headstocks give me anxiety(I found my old one hanging by a tuning key years ago). This guitar solves that problem and gives me all the tones of a telecaster, plus a little more. All three pickups sound excellent on their own, or paired together. I originally wanted to put a T-Bender bridge on this, but it didn't quite match up, so I ended having to get a tele after all.
Great guitar!
Well made, plays great, looks cool, great price!
Paranormal Nashville strat
I can't say enough about this guitar, I thought I was going to have to change the neck but once I got it in hand it is fantastic it plays great pickups are good, that's the only thing I may mod later down the road. But, as it sits it is a great guitar and highly recommend not only for the color but the fit and finish of the paranormal series is superb.

A long term review
Welp, it's been over half a year since I got this instrument and I have to say, it punched well above its weight class. Now I will note that I did get a tusq nut installed, and a plek at the time of purchase so that certainly has some influence on the feel of the instrument. For some context I mostly play blues and rock music, however, I do enjoy playing punk alternative, and grunge music. This is without question one of the most versatile instruments I've ever owned or had the pleasure of playing. For a $ instrument, it is fantastic. Now, let me tell you some things that I like and some things that I don't like after all nothing is perfect.
Pros:
This instrument is extremely versatile I find myself enjoying the tele neck combined with the Stratocaster middle pickup it is such a great combination also the bridge pickup on this guitar is not that typical ice pick that you'd expect from a Telecaster bridge pickup it's relatively smooth. I find myself not worrying about if my guitar will be able to do a gig, because having seven switching positions, makes this so versatile, and believe it or not, I enjoy having all three pickups on it once it's a very dynamic position that I would've never discovered without this guitar.
Cons:
Honestly, these cons are mostly preferential and some people don't need these changes some do but here's my experience. The potentiometers, especially the tone, were not very interactive. As someone who uses their volume and tone knobs a lot to help control a broken-up amplifier I find this to be essential on most guitars that I play but honestly, it wasn't that difficult to change, since it merely required a changing to some higher grade pots, and a treble bleed installation. I didn't enjoy the stock bridge plate, and I found the saddles a little harsh. I upgraded it to a Gotoh "In-Tune" Bridge, with titanium saddles, and the difference was substantial. I found it sustained more and I wasn't hitting my hand into the bridge. The pickups in this guitar are good, but I would prefer a less hot neck and middle pup. My neck read about 7.4k and the middle about 7.7k. As an avid fan of the Strat middle pickup, I found it to be quite harsh. I also switched to an electrosocket jack plate, and I find the jack feels more secure. As a final recommendation, get an angled control plate. I find this helps with switching pickups and coming from a strat background, it's quite useful.

All in all, I love this guitar and it has helped. My plane become better and has been my main workhorse ever since I got it I can play any genre I want on it. I find that after switching the wiring to better quality parts and a better quality switch and Jack I have made quite a beast of an instrument. Also, the angled control plate helps with fast pick-up switches a la SRV. If you're a telecaster player, looking to get a Nashville telecaster, or a strat player wanting a different sound, or just wanting a quality versatile instrument, I cant recommend this enough.

Became higher dollar mod project
New Brad Paisley La Brea pickups, new DiMarzio Strat middle pup and an aftermarket Strat neck with jumbo fretwire and Pearloid block inlays.... it went from eh! to excellent. I really dislike the fret wire they use... tall thin... well nothing tall about these fret wires they look like worn out fret wires that need to be replaced. I also bought the Fender pro staggered tuners which means I need no string trees... If you want a fancy Dan looking guitar and can get by the flaws with the tiny fret wires it may suit you.... BUT... with the neck I bought it really made the strings come alive...
