Based on Guthrie Govan's Signature Amplifier

Victory Amplification’s V1 series of pedals packs the power of their full-size tube amps into a pedalboard-friendly package! While V1 The Jack may not have any tubes, legendary British stompbox guru Adrian Thorpe was tapped to fine-tune the entire V1 series to perfectly capture the voice, feel, and vibe of their valve-powered siblings. Their research has certainly paid off — V1 The Jack beautifully replicates the voice of Victory Amplification’s Jack Family, a series that was designed in collaboration with virtuoso guitarist Guthrie Govan to serve as a tonal “jack of all trades.” Bass, treble, and tone controls allow you to shape your sound for almost any 6-string application, while the volume and gain controls take you from a low-gain bite to sustaining, saturated leads. If your pedalboard real estate is at a premium, the V1 series’ combination of tube-flavored tone and stompbox simplicity is a winning formula for sonic victory!

The Jack of all trades

The Jack family of amplifiers was designed in collaboration with legendary guitarist Guthrie Govan to cover his entire tonal range — no small task, considering Guthrie is a genre-defying chameleon and one of the 21st century’s true 6-string masters. The V1 The Jack from Sweetwater perfectly translates the tube-powered Jack’s tonal flexibility, easily tackling everything from an edge-of-breakup bark to lush saturation that will make your leads sing with harmonic complexity.

Big sound, tiny box

Victory Amplification’s V4 series of preamp-in-a-box pedals took the world by storm when they were first announced, providing guitarists with true tube amplification tone in an exceptionally portable form factor. However, what if they were more portable? That’s the mission of the V1 series, a range of stompboxes that squeezes the respective sonic might of the Copper, Duchess, Jack, Kraken, and Sheriff into a pedalboard-friendly size! While the V1 series ditches the tubes, they were designed in collaboration with legendary pedal maker Adrian Thorpe to precisely capture the voice of their valve counterparts. Handbuilt in the UK, Victory Amplification’s V1 pedals can easily be tossed onto even the smallest of boards for massive tones in a standard stompbox form factor!

Victory Amplification: cutting-edge designs for modern players

Reviews

Outstanding!
I have been looking for an Overdrive/Distortion pedal that can cover a lot of ground. I mainly use this pedal for the studio and I haven't found a tone I cannot cover with this pedal. It does an outstanding job doing edge of breakup to a beautiful saturated distortion, my all time favorite actually. The Eq section does its job perfectly, nice sweep and range. It is my desert island dirt pedal, I follow it up with a T-rex replica and a Neunaber wet reverb. Sounds outstanding through an Lp, Strat and Tele. The lack of reviews suggest it isn't being used much, that is a shame because this is a stellar pedal! Hearing is believeing in the guitar world and after hearing this you will believe, just give it a try!

Best Distortion Ever!!!
This is hands down the best drive pedal that I have ever used. Not only is it remarkably amp-like, but it is ever more remarkably versatile with a wide range of gain. I highly recommend The Jack.

Excellent pedal not enough gain.
This pedal is built very well and is nice and heavy. I have played hundreds of overdrives and distortion pedals mostly higher end ones. This pedal sounds very good and amp like. The EQ section is very wide ranging and can be used for many styles of playing. However I was surprised at how little gain this pedal has. It has about half as much as my Suhr Riot which is not a very high gain pedal either. This pedal needs much more gain, it just sounds very weak in the gain department. It does take boost pedals well and I can get the gain I want by using a Suhr Koko boost in front of it. This pedal does have a very signature Guthrie Govan like tone to it. It sounds like a Soldano mixed with a Bogner and a Mesa Mark 2. Response it tight and the gain structure is smooth. It cleans up well on the guitar volume knob. A great pedal that needs more gain or a built in boost option. I bought this for my small pedalboard to use it no my Suhr Bella combo. Now I need a bigger board to add a boost. I have tried 10 different medium to higher gain pedals with my Bella and this sounds the best so far. I hope they make a version 2 and add a boost switch.
