This retro reimagining of the classic 59 is a thoroughbred rock stallion, with a vintage single-coil in the neck position and a full-range Lipstick humbucker at the bridge. The angled pickup design is effective at balancing notes across all 12 strings, giving bridge-position high octaves a bit more warmth and neck-position low octaves a touch more clarity. What surprised us at Sweetwater is how well the humbucker cleans up, especially in the split configuration. Engaging the push-pull coil split unearths more of the iconic jangle and bite that 12-string Danelectros are best known for.
