For generations, the venerable and trusted workhorse of the recording studio control room has been the pair of passive monitors resting above the console. Passive monitors are widely considered to provide superior performance. They keep the power amp electronics away so they don't interfere with the driver magnets, and their heat and mass doesn't alter the sonic characteristics of the speaker enclosure.

The first thing you learn in mixing school is that your mixes turn out better if you can test them on multiple sizes and styles of monitors. As you build your mix you're constantly adjusting balances, and each change affects how other frequencies come through. When you test your changes on big monitors, then on medium near fields, then on tiny single driver units, then a single mono speaker, even running out to your car to hear how it works there, all of these listening scenarios help you get a better picture of how your mix will sound in many different audio environments. This is called translation, and it's one of the trickiest aspects of mixing music. That's why we provide you with a wide variety of passive monitors to choose from. We have a ton of sizes and driver configurations ranging from huge multi-speaker ported enclosures to tiny single driver boxes for that car radio experience.

There is nothing quite like hearing your mix through a huge pair of audiophile quality speakers. In studio parlance these passive monitor beasts are known as the bigs. Our biggest enclosures, with bass speakers up to 15 inches, ensure everyone in the room literally feels the music. The woofer is complemented with a precision high frequency driver and a finely tuned crossover to deliver a massive sound as sharp as obsidian and thunderously deep. When the producer shows up demanding to hear the mix, you're going to want to play it on the bigs.

If you're needing something a few paces down from Mount Olympus, We have the most revered multi-driver near field passive monitors on the the market. Most of your control room listening is done on these. We have a range of sizes and powers to augment and enhance any monitoring system. If you're starting from scratch we even have terrific bundles that include a pair of speakers and a specially matched power amp. Skimping on your near fields is not an option. They produce the clarity and oomph you need to ensure the sources you track sound right, and the mixes you build move people.

The specs and design variations can be a bit much to take in all at once. When you find yourself spinning your wheels, that's where we come in. We make it our business to know our product specifications and how they all fit together in a system. Our extremely knowledgeable Sales Engineers will help you get a set of passive monitors that fits your needs perfectly. Just give us a call! Learn Morerrrabuyvsvsveytfazersurdwarubawvev
