Avantone Pro MixCubes 5.25 inch Passive Reference Monitor Pair - Gloss Black Reviews

Mini Passive Full-range Reference Monitors with 5¼" Drivers, Shielded Design, and Built-in Stand Mounts (pair)

Avantone's MixCubes mini reference monitors give you the ability to hear what your mixes will sound like on bass-challenged real-world systems such as computers, televisions, car stereos, and iPod docking stations. The full-range, passive MixCubes are 6½" tall, and each contains a 5¼" speaker that provides excellent sound reproduction for great reference mixing. The cabinets are shielded, so you can place them next to computer monitors. For making high-quality, accurate mixes that sound great on any system, use the MixCubes to complete your monitor setup.

Life Savers!

By Aaron from Cherry Valley Ca
Music Background: Guitarist, home engineer

I was having tons of mix/eq problems. You know the deal:Great mix on your studio monitors, but sounds like crud everywhere else? Yeah. That was me.

I only have a small bedroom setup. JBL monitors, Cubase 10.5, Helix as my interface. As soon as I integrated the Mixcubes into the equation everything changed. My mixes stood out and I was able to hear what I couldn't before. I do Metal originals and they work great.

If you get a pair and have the ability to use your two-way monitors along with the Mixcubes, listen to something g like Steely Dan/Moving Pictures/TOTO. Use all four speakers, then take out the Mixcubes, then put them back in. It's the audio equivalent of turning the lights on and off again.

These things are an absolute must have if you want all of your mixes to translate from system to system.

A Nice Addition

By Captain M. from Illinois
Music Background: Song Writer / Guitarist / Home Studio Operator

Just added these to my home studio as an second reference.
I use a pair of Adam AX7s as my main monitors and I wanted something with a mid focus to help my mixes perform in the world outside my studio.
They fit the bill nicely.
The Adams's are fuller and richer so, flipping to the Mix Cubes helps me hear more mids helping me hear what's important.
