Get More Juice from Passive Mics

Passive dynamic and ribbon microphones sound absolutely incredible. However, these microphones’ naturally low output is a major impediment to using them on quiet sources or during live performances. With the sE Electronics DM1 Dynamite in-line preamp, however, those days are over. This compact unit plugs directly into the output of your microphone. Feed it a little phantom power, and the DM1 delivers +28dB of clean, clear preamplification. In other words, your mic signals hit their destination at an adequate level for proper gain staging. The DM1’s Class A circuitry, high-quality FETs, and low impedance ensure a consistent signal and very low noise — even over long cable runs. Help your mics perform up to their full potential with the sE Electronics DM1 Dynamite.

Note: For best results, we recommend plugging the DM1 directly into a microphone’s output. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineers with questions.

Pristine sound from any source

sE Electronics designed the DM1 to boost your signal without adding any unwanted coloration. After extensive testing in the real world, Sweetwater can confirm that this compact in-line preamp does precisely that. So how did sE Electronics achieve such a feat? By using Class A circuitry and hand-selected FETs, of course. The Class A electronics and dedicated output buffer ensure you always get pristine amplification of your signal regardless of cable length and impedance.

sE Electronics DM1 Dynamite Active In-line Preamp Features:

  • Adds +28dB of clean gain to low-output passive microphones for proper gain staging
  • Class A electronics offer a neutral sound
  • Output buffer ensures the unit provides consistent gain regardless of load
  • Low output impedance ensures you get a clean signal regardless of cable length
  • Gold-plated connectors offer a loss-free and reliable connection
  • Rugged metal housing stands up to punishment
  • Low-profile design saves space in studio and live settings

Dynamite
Great for Dynamic microphones , direct Mic,insturment etc & DAW connection, long XLR Cable runs, very useful on older vintage mics. Worth the price . Solid design.
Made the difference
A sweetwater rep suggested to get this mic booster to help with clean gain when using my Rode Podmic and Yamaha MG10XU. It worked and made a huge difference! Now I don't have to boost the gain on the mixer. I actually did a review of this set up on my YouTube channel if interested search LCC LEARN CREATE CAPITALIZE. Thanks again sweetwater!
sE Dynamite
As usual,'m a Gigging Musician,Songwriter & Hone Recording Novice on a budget. Currently Saving up for a Shure SM7b Dynamic Mic. But until I'm able to get one-I'm currently Recording Vocals with Shure SM58,which has beey low output & requires high vol level from my Interface, which can pick up "noise" from my Untrested room. After reading reviews(on Sweetwater) and comparing with other Mic Signal Boosters,I chose the SE Dynamite. And what a difference a Line Signal Booster makes! Had to turn the Vol Interface from 3/4 down to 1/4 Vol level. Gives an ample amount of "Clean" Boost. Makes my SM58 sound Pretty Good. Can't wait to hear it on an SM7b. Kudos to MY Salesperson person Dave Brow, who takes the time to help me find what I need.

Dynamite is the bomb!
I was having big issues with my Behringer XR18 not clipping when turning up the gain. Had to raise gain just to hear myself in recordings and through headphones. I'm using a Shure SM7B, and apparently it requires lot's of power that my system doesn't provide. Installing the Dynamite inline Preamp did the trick. Like, wham!, Out of the box, I was recording awesome, clean sound with no more trouble. Plus, it's a great design and comes in a cool box!
Great idea that really works
These preamps make so much sense, and they are perfect for making a dynamic mic into a condenser type mic without all the feedback problems associated with true condenser mics. My favorite thing is to gain stage a vocal mic, have the singer use it and plug one of these inline, turn on the phantom power and turn the gain to 0 and have the same person sing into then. The look is priceless, and the mic becomes another instrument you're not on top of and creating proximity effects and trying to EQ it to cut through the mix. IT's the best money you will ever spend on your sound system.
