Equip Your Stage for Great Vocals

The sound is rich and full, with a slight emphasis on the top end to help vocals cut through a loud mix. Whether you're singing or speaking, Sweetwater is sure you'll be pleased with the Sennheiser XS 1 handheld dynamic microphone.

Sennheiser XS 1 Dynamic Microphone Features:

  • Handheld dynamic mic is ideal for both singing and public speaking
  • Full sound, with emphasized top end for clarity that cuts through the mix
  • Cardioid polar pattern helps reduce the chance of feedback on a loud stage
  • Silent Mute switch offers instant on/off functionality without clicks or pops

Reviews

Great Microphone.
This microphone is really nice. I think that it's misunderstood by some people. I read another review that implied that this mic is kind of a cheap sound, because he had to EQ it. Well, this mic is designed to be more of a flat response mic, which IS a blank canvas for EQ: That's the point. There is less coloration with this mic, and that is on purpose. It's not a flaw. You do have to EQ this, just like you have to put seasonings in your spaghetti sauce. This mic is designed for you to EQ it.For the price point, this mic is amazingly clear. It is a dynamic mic, so it's not going to get all of the subtle detail that a capacitor (condenser) mic will get. However this mic sounds nice and clear. If you're looking to get rid of the muddiness present in something like an SM57 or SM58, this mic will do it. This mic comes with a little boost on the high end, but the mids and low end sound like a flat response. And, if you want to add bass, you can do that with some EQ. This is a great little mic. And you can't go wrong at this price point. If you're looking for clarity from a dynamic mic, this is your mic.It looks to be built sturdy. The switch is a low profile plastic switch. It's probably good for many thousands of on/off action. I think that this is one of the best deals out there.

Awesome Mice
This mic for the money is very clear just as any Sennheiser made mics. I was surely impressed by the clarity when I used it for recording my singing. I love it and would recommend this mic for anyone who is looking for quality mic at an affordable price.

Surprised to say the least….
I was recording vocals at my bud's tiny home studio. He didn't have any condenser mics yet so we ran dynamic mics. We AB'ed 3 mics -the Audix OM-7, the Shure SM58, and Sennheiser XS-1. The XS-1 was the clear winner for me. Hotter signal than the other 2 mics with more presence and clarity, with a really great sound. When Inasled my bud what mic that was he said it was a Sennheiser XS-1, a $ mic. My jaw dropped. The XS-1 is considered their low end, budget gear but to me it sounds pretty high end to me in terms of dynamic mics. Now, I bought the e-935, which is considered part of their high end dynamic mics, a while ago but haven't gotten a chance to test it yet. All I can say is if you don't have the budget for $300 to $900 the XS-1, even though inexpensive, is a fabulous mic to go with. Sounds incredible for its price point!

Wow Incredible
I just received this item and plugged it in and wow...what an incredible microphone. I can't believe the low price on such an awesome item. Why ever pay for a higher price mic?
Works as it should
I use this with an mxr voice box and it works perfectly. No complaints. This mic did come as a bundle with a mic stand and cord.
Music background: Amateur guitarist
