Mixing Never Felt So Good!

Install the Behringer X1 Infinium optical fader into your DDM4000 DJ mixer and you'll get smoother transitions and a customized mixing experience. Thanks to the X1 Infinium's optical technology, you can mix with that old school, totally analog feel, but get digital precision, better responsiveness, and more control than ever - all without compromising your workflow. Easy to install and complete with instructions, the contact-free technology lets you adjust the fader-action friction to your taste and means the Behringer X1 Infinium optical fader will get you through thousands of tracks!

Provides Responsive Control While Giving You a Truly Analog Touch and Feel

As the DJ's here at Sweetwater will agree, your most used and most expressive tool as a performing DJ, is your crossfader. And while digital faders have definitely been an improvement over the almost disposable analog faders on older mixers, if you use a fader long enough, it will give up. To solve that, Behringer's X1 Infinium uses contact-free, optical technology utilizing magnetic energy to not only give you lasting performance, but also allowing you to adjust how the fader responds to your touch. And the ultra-high, 128-position, digital precision gives you control beyond analog. Using light-sensing technology the X1 Infium gives you responsive control for making tranisitions. You can depend on optical technology to keep your show going and your audience on the dance floor.

Behringer X1 Infinium Optical Fader Features:
  • Designed specifically for Behringer's DDM4000 DJ mixer, complete install instruction and toolkit included
  • Analog feel doesn't mess with your workflow
  • Digital precision provides infintesimal control over audio

Works Fine
First let me say that I don't own the Behringer DDM4000 mixer! This fader is supposed to be an upgrade for that specific mixer ONLY, according to the online installation instructions. I have the Behringer DJX900USB mixer and was in a tight spot when my fader started bleeding. So I ran across this fader (BEHRINGER INFINIUM X1), and when I zoomed-in and noticed that all the circuits matched the fader in my DJX900 mixer. The INFINIUM X1 was the exact same layout. So at that point, spending $29 was cheaper than buying a new mixer, right? So I took the chance and ordered this fader.

It came in 2 days and I was ready to install the fader. I came across 2 big issues! First the connectors are different, secondly, the wires were opposite from the old fader. Well, I was warned that the fader was for the DDM4000 mixer. No one to be out-done, I told myself that I would try to rewire the fader and splice-on the new connector? Might as well try, I had the part in hand, and it was still cheaper to try, than buy a new mixer.

Long story shorter, as I was trying to wiggle off the connector for the second time (on the mixer), I somehow pulled both ends of the connector off, leaving 3 exposed prongs sticking out! Something told me to see if the new fader's connector would slide over these prongs and fit! Wow....they did fit perfectly. I turned on my mixer and heard some noisy feedback. So I then unplugged the connector and flipped it around the other way. BINGO!
The fader worked like a charm and I didn't have to splice or cut any wires. So if you're the least bit handy with your hands, and have the Behringer DJX900USB mixer with a bad fader....this is a cheap fix! Think I'll buy another fader as a spare! I'm now back into the MIX!

wiring on plug is backwards
when i received the first fader that was a demo, it did not work. read some threads on what the problem could be but was unable to get the fader to work. sent the demo back and was sent another optical fader. the brand new fader still did not work. did some more research and found out the problem. the wire harness was soldered to the main board backwards. i removed the outside wires on the plug and switched them and the fader worked. behringer droped the ball on this item. the DDM4000 mixer should have already had the optical fader installed at the assembley plant. then someone would have realized the problem with the wiring. the "tribe" is worthless anduseless to anyone in north america. otherwise the wire problem would be in the tech support page. this one part cost me over 12 hours of research and work i should not have had to do.
