Sixties-era Rotating Speaker Whirl in a Pedalboard-friendly Stompbox

Many guitar heroes of yesteryear owe a debt of gratitude to the rotating speakers of the '60s that produced a one-of-a-kind whirl accented with a highly musical overdrive. With the TC Electronic Vibraclone Rotary, the sweet sounds of rotary speakers are now at your disposal in a pedalboard-friendly design. Two knobs are all it takes to dial in that perfect amount of spin and grit, with the Speed control adjusting the rotation of the "speaker" and the Drive control kicking in some additional coloring and saturation, akin to a tube-amp overdrive. Sweetwater guitarists love the highly versatile center toggle that switches from Chorale to Tremolo speed ranges, yielding everything from light warbles to superspeed swirls and wobbly vibrato. Plus, the Vibraclone Rotary's metal frame stands up to rigorous touring and heavy use, with true bypass construction keeping your tone clean and clear when disengaged.

TC Electronic Vibraclone Rotary Pedal Features:

  • Rotary speaker sounds in a pedalboard-friendly enclosure
  • Speed and Drive knobs adjust rotation speed and overdrive, respectively
  • Chorale/Tremolo switch toggles between 2 speed ranges
  • True bypass switching preserves your tone when the pedal is bypassed

Reviews

Just great!
Got this as a Christmas gift. I love the simplicity of operation. Adds lots of lush under and overtones to my playing
Getting Beatle rotary sounds
Needed a pedal for Beatle rotary sounds and this is perfect. Right on good pedal great price and fast deliver. Very happy.
Music background: 70 year old still rocking. Guitar bass keys and drums.
Close enough for the spinning speaker vibe
I am using the TC Electronic Vibra\Clone with my pedal steel guitar to get the Leslie spinning speaker effect. Two dials and a switch so dialing in the effect could't be easier. The drive knob give that edge for a slightly overdriven vibe when playing full jazz chords staccato. A well thought out useful design.
Music background: Playing guitar & pedal steel for 60 years
Vibra Clone Pedal Review
Only had this pedal for a short while but so far I definitely Like it! Versatile and fun. Adds depth to my playing and offers good control for an effective inexpensive alternative.
Music background: Long term Hobbiest and past semi Pro player
Unique, groovy sound
I've had this in my chain for years now and I love it. I use it to put my guitar into a more "organ" role, fatting up a song while the other guitar does something bright and crisp. It's an unusual sound, compared to choruses or flangers, dirtier and more organic feeling. I prefer to slower Chorale setting, practically, but on Tremolo you can get some really dramatic, underwater sounds.
I do agree with other reviewers that there's a definite loss in perceived volume when you kick it on, but because I use it in a rhythm role AND I have a volume pedal I use to keep myself Just Right, that doesn't bother me at all. I think this would benefit heavily with a compressor after the pedal, to help correct that volume dip and enhance the sustain for a more organ-like sound.
I've happy with this on my board for the two or three songs I need it for and it's definitely returned on the investment.
Music background: Light gigging, home recording, lifelong jammer
