Get Impressive Acoustic Tones, Wherever You Go!

A travel guitar shouldn't simply be a scaled-down version of a regular guitar. That's why Traveler Guitar brings you the purpose-built Ultra-Light Acoustic. You'll love its full-scale neck and great playability, and the full, detailed sound you get from its Traveler Piezo Pickup is astonishing. That said, this 3-pound, 28-inch-long acoustic-electric guitar is small and lightweight enough to take anywhere — it even fits in airline overhead bins! If you're looking for easy portability, you can't go wrong with the Ultra-Light Acoustic.

Plays like a full-sized instrument

Even though it's easily streamlined enough to travel with you in the most cramped situations, the Ultra-Light Acoustic carries a full 24.75-inch scale length. You won't have to worry about trying to adjust to the smaller feel or narrower fret spacing that's often a concern with similar designs. Add to that the detachable arm and leg rests, and you won't even know you're playing such a compact instrument.

Piezo pickup offers tonal diversity

The Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic guitar is wired for sound. The under-saddle piezo pickup delivers a wonderfully balanced amplified acoustic tone. Piezo pickups have become legendary among players who love the fact that they are designed to pick up the vibrations of the strings and translate them to great acoustic tone.

Proprietary In-Body Tuning System

While the Ultra-Light Acoustic uses standard tuning machines, its proprietary In-Body Tuning System relocates them into the guitar's body. This eliminates the need for a headstock while providing you with a full-scale playing experience on an instrument that’s 31% shorter and 43% lighter than a full-sized acoustic.

Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic Features:

  • 3-pound, 28-inch-long acoustic-electric guitar is small and lightweight enough to take anywhere
  • Small enough to fit in an airline overhead bin
  • Full 24-3/4-inch scale length means you don't have to compromise on feel
  • Eastern American hard maple neck-through body delivers awesome sustain
  • Traveler Piezo pickup provides impressive acoustic tone plugged in
  • Heavy-duty gig bag included

Reviews

Traveler Acoustic Guitar
The tone is really good for such a small guitar. I run it through a Fishman Loudbox acoustic amp and it sounds great. It also sounds good through the Traveler headphone amp. Stays in tune nicely and has a very playable neck.

The lack of a body to rest your picking arm on takes some getting used to but that's the price you pay for portability.

The positioning of the cable jack is also a bit of a problem. It's right where you're picking arm wants to go so you end up with your arm sitting on the cable jack or headphone amp. Easy solution is to use a 90 degree M-F patch cord and letting the headphone amp dangle.

I'm very happy with my purchase. I already took it to Las Vegas and was able to stow it underneath the seat in front of me and carry it easily across my back with the shoulder strap. It did get a secondary screening going through security on the way home but no big deal.

Being able to practice while traveling and quietly at home is very cool. Glad I got it.

Couldn't Be Happier
I bought this guitar back in 2013 so I could practice at work on my breaks. I work in a machine shop and wanted something that wouldn't attract attention but had a full size neck. This seemed the best likely choice for me and I was not disappointed !! This guitar is almost silent acoustically but with an earphone amp and earphone sounds GREAT !! Also plugging into a full size amp produces a nice rich tone that is surprisingly good.
It's small size does take a little getting used to but it's easy to store in a locker (at work) or an airplane overhead compartment.
Changing the strings is a little more of a challenge than what most of us are used to but can be done with a bit of patience. It's not much to look at aesthetically, but that is not what we are going for here anyway, however, the fit and finish work on mine was really well done. Fret ends were nicely dressed. The frets were not gritty at all and the finger board was nice and smooth. No complaints at all, really.
My thanks to Sweetwater for their GREAT customer service and providing just what I need just when I need it !!

Incredible
I bought this and took it to Hawaii. I practiced for five hours all the way in the air. Incredible. It is highly playable. I am exclusively finger style with a thumb pick and it is perfect for practicing with a tiny Vox plug in amp a dear buds. It is called acoustic because it has a piezo compared to an electric pickup. Which makes sense. And It does produce an adequate acoustic sound in the earbuds. It is not made for ambient sound. And that's a good thing especially in a packed airplane. I tuned it slack down C to C and it is fine with slack style. Excellent for blues and country chicken Picken. Harmonics are great. Overall I am very happy with it. All you complainers out there STPhU go take a happy pill and chill your complaining pie hole. Except for something that arrived broken and in that case just exchange it., I can't believe that someone would give this guitar a poor review.

Traveler Ultra-Light Acoustic Electric Guitar
The Traveler Ultra-Light Acoustic Electric guitar met my need as a great instrument for practicing in silence with or without headphones when I am away from my other guitar. The solid maple neck matches the feel of my full-sized guitar and so does its full-scale length, making the transition between instruments optimum. It stays in tune well and its compact size makes it perfect for any kind of travel. Plugged into a small amplifier at home, it sounds quite decent.

I would like to give a shout out to sales engineer Jeff Law and all those at Sweetwater. I cannot say enough about their dedication to serving the customer's needs by promptly answering questions and offering their expert advice. This was my first Sweetwater purchase, but it will not be my last.

Traveler Guitar Light
This guitar works perfect for me to sit in the living room with the wife, and her not hearing me pick. It's great to do extra work while watching tv. I also use it on vacation trips where I can just put my headphones on with the amp accessor I bought so only I can hear it...love this little travel guitar...
