Classic, Modified Flair and Rock-solid Performance

Fall back to a classic era of rock ’n’ roll with the Squier Classic Vibe ’60s Custom Telecaster SH with Bigsby. The vibe and flair of the 1960s are alive and well in this vintage-meets-performance re-creation, starting with period-inspired headstock decals. Next, the Classic Vibe ’60s Custom Telecaster’s vintage-tinted, C-shaped maple neck joins a lightweight poplar body that exudes comfort and effortless playability. Performance features that guitarists here at Sweetwater are quick to bond with include a flatter Indian laurel fingerboard with a 9.5-inch radius, narrow-tall frets, a bone nut, a Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece, and a set of Fender Designed alnico SH Telecaster pickups with a near-infinite tonal range. The Classic Vibe series offers a plethora of vintage-appointed models from Fender’s expansive catalog of legendary instruments, and the Classic Vibe ’60s Custom Telecaster SH with Bigsby offers you a highly obtainable throwback instrument, built to be enjoyed for countless hours of playtime.

Built to get your groove on

The Classic Vibe ’60s Custom Telecaster SH with Bigsby isn’t simply a wall decoration — it plays as great as it looks. To start, the C-shaped neck profile adapts to many hand sizes, offering fast and slick playability along the entire length of the Indian laurel fingerboard. The 9.5-inch fingerboard radius has a “best of both worlds” response, equally suitable for base position chord playing and blazingly fast solo work. The 21 narrow-tall frets feel natural to the touch and offer enough fret height to dig deep into expressively big string bends. The Bigsby tailpiece, a popular modification during the late ’60s and early ’70s, features a string-through design to simplify your string changes and offers a solid vibrato experience. Performance-grade, vintage-style tuners and a Mustang-style floating bridge keep your tuning in check during long sets at the gig or practice sessions at home. Lastly, a bone nut is installed to further bolster the harmonic resonance of the Classic Vibe ’60s Custom Telecaster SH, leading to a highly vibrant instrument with added resonance you can feel.

Fender Designed alnico pickups

When it comes to tone, Fender Designed alnico pickups cover all the bases with sonic authority: chiming highs, rich and warm lows, and a pleasing midrange growl. This guitar’s pickup set and Tone control open a gamut of expressive sounds to fit any genre. From clean jazz and in-the-pocket funk to country and blues rock, you’ll fit in with any project that comes your way. Add in the neck-position humbucking pickup, and your tonal world expands into warmer harmonic overtones full of sustain.

Squier Classic Vibe series: hot mods of classic Fenders

Squier has tapped into something extraordinary with its Classic Vibe series — hot mods of classic Fenders, sporting top-shelf materials and components, with primo fit and finish. If you’re a guitarist or bassist, you’ll likely agree that vintage Fender instruments are highly sought after, so it’s exciting that Fender has set its Squier subsidiary free to create hot-rodded and affordable versions of the classics.

This Squire Classic Vibe '60s S/H Tele with Bigsby is Fun!
This Squire Classic Vibe '60s S/H Tele with Bigsby is Fun to Play. The Bigsby allows you to get that classic Vibrato sound for many styles of playing like Rockabilly, etc.. Most Bigsbys are notorious for going out of tune, but this one stays in tune quite well due to its Mustang type Saddles (which act like a sort of a "roller" bridge). That being said, note that a Bigsby is NOT a Whammy bar capable of Deep Dives, so go easy on the arm. Although the Fingerboard is not rosewood, the Laurel wood is pretty close in feel and looks. The Bridge has a Single Coil Alnico PickUp that can produce that classic Tele Twang. The Neck PU offers an Alnico Humbucker tone. Some say both PUs sound a bit too bright, but I adjust the Tone controls to reduce the brightness. And did I mention that it also LOOKS very Cool? The Double trim gives it a 60s vintage look. I have the Aztec Gold option, but the Blue one looks Cool, too! A special shout out "THANKS!" goes to Zack McCord (who always goes above and beyond to help) together with Nick P. and some of the Tech folks who searched through a batch of these to find me one UNDER 8lbs in weight (yeah..I'm a wimp!:) I felt bad because they weighed around 6 guitars until they found a lighter one to my liking, but then had to post the other 6 heavier guitars at once. I felt guilty until ALL of those other guitars sold quickly like Golden Hot Cakes! If you are looking for a Cool and Fun guitar to play, take a chance on this special edition. Don't let the "Squire" name deter you. It can compete with a lot of Teles with the Fender logo on the Headstock, and at a very reasonable price.
No need to spend thousands!
I ordered a Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster a couple of years ago and although it arrived with several issues I reset the neck myself because it looked like a forklift has damaged the guitar. Despite that, I really enjoy playing it and the ceramic pups don't sound too bad. This guitar far exceeded any preconceptions. I did all my research beforehand and I have heard nothing but great things about the Classic Vibes series and I was not disappointed. A Fender Custom Telecaster is not by any stretch a cheap instrument with many models exceeding $!!! The fit and finish are like nothing I have seen except for PRS SE instruments. Where else can you get a guitar with these features less than at least $ used. This guitar also has been reviewed as lacking in the humbucker pup but to my ear sounds just fine. In fact, this guitar sounds amazing. The double bound body is a work of art and the neck is phenomenal. I don't know if this is typical but my neck has no skunk stripe and is very comfortable. The Bigsby tremolo performs good and has great control. I own several other guitars up to $ like my Les Paul but there is an intangible otherness to this guitar. Put in a bone nut and vintage tuners and this sounds amazing. It definitely has twang and the looks. If Classic Vibes keeps their quality up, the only reason to buy a Fender labeled guitar is solely based on status. Kudos to Squier and Sweetwater for making this hands down the best online experience I have had purchasing a guitar. If you're looking for a great instrument for a tenth the price this is it.

Killer guitar
I was skeptical at first since the last time I played a squier was 20 years ago. This thing is stellar, the only thing I would change is the pickups and that is just personal preference. Great buy.
