Value-packed Tele with Vintage Vibe

The Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster celebrates one of the world's most instantly recognizable guitars, with added modern features. Boasting a pine body with a classic finish, the Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster harkens back to the original "black guard" Teles that started it all, while two Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups serve up legendary Tele twang. Check out this Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster and tap into iconic Telecaster sound at an affordable price.

Original "black guard" experience

Certain electric guitars are credited with shaping modern music, and the 1950s Fender "black guard" Telecaster may be the most iconic of them all. With this Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster, you can have a similar vintage tone and look at a price that any guitarist can afford. From the 3-saddle string-through-body bridge and vintage-style tuners to the single-ply black pickguard, this Tele is a smooth performer with unmistakable '50s vibe.

Custom set of alnico single-coil pickups

The discerning guitarists at Sweetwater know that to get a real vintage sound from a guitar, you need to start with great pickups. The Fender-designed alnico single-coil Tele pickups in the Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster nail those classic tones. You'll love the clear, punchy sounds, which are perfect for playing country, blues, jazz, rock, or pop. Sonically (and visually), these pickups extend the vintage appeal of this guitar.

Vintage appointments with modern playability

The black pickguard, alnico pickups, 3-saddle bridge, and vintage tuning keys cover the vintage side of things. But the 9.5" fingerboard radius gives you a comfortable playing surface that allows for wider string bends than the 7.25" radius of vintage guitars. While being rounded enough for comfortable chording, this radius is perfect for double-stop bends, wide vibrato, and even bends over a whole step. And the modern C-shaped neck feels just right, smoothing the way for fleet-fingered fretting.

Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster Features:

  • Pine body; gloss polyurethane finish
  • Maple neck, "C" profile
  • Maple fingerboard, 9.5" radius, dot inlays
  • 25.5" scale length, 21 Narrow Tall frets
  • Fender-designed alnico single-coil bridge and neck pickups
  • 3-way pickup selector; master Volume and Tone controls
  • 3-saddle string-through-body bridge
  • 1.65" nut
  • Vintage-style tuners

Reviews

Affordable and Amazing Guitar
Already loved this guitar after pulling it out of the box. Guitar was already nicely set up and the packaging was done really well. Gotta love Sweetwater!
Out of the park.

My CV 59's tele was listed at 8.3lb, but it ended up being a good bit less than 8lb, so I'm happy about that. It is the most resonant and loud guitars strummed unplugged that I own, minus an exceptional LP Junior. So the CV line is great. Squires used to be garbage years ago, but this instrument is phenomenal, especially for a sub $guitar. The alnico pickups do not need replacing (which is weird to me). Try setting them 2 nickels from the string fretted on bass side, one nickel on treble side, then go from there. The pickups set right combined with this slab of wood produce lots of bloom and harmonic frequencies around the notes. You have to adjust them on any guitar. I did add Wilkinson compensated brass saddles for intonation and looks I am upgrading the wiring to a kit with true 250K minimum CTS pots just to squeeze all the juice it has. All I can say is this… I have some really good instruments, including an R8, a Custom Shop '64 Journeyman relic strat, the Junior, and an awesome AVRI 57 Strat, and I'd park this tele beside all of them at any gig. Just buy the lightest one you can find as some are nearing 10lb. Thanks to salesman Ryan Sloan for keeping me prompted and hi-res pics.

Love the Squier Classic Vibe
For the price, hard to find a better deal with sound and the nostalgia. It came out of the box ready to play. The crew at Sweetwater, as always, does a great job.
Sweet guitar!
For a cheaper guitar, this thing is solid, heavy, beautiful shine! Plays every bit as good as my American Telecasters!
Love playing my metal riffs, Tool, Manson things like that on this guitar!
Great guitar
Unbelievable, for the price, a killer guitar. I play it through my Fender Super Champ, great tones. The neck is great, easy to play. Not to mention , a real beauty. I highly recommend it!
