Classic Tele Sound with Upgraded Features from Squier

The Squier Affinity Series Telecaster puts authentic Tele feel, tone, and stage-ready presentation into your hands at an outstanding price point. This Affinity Series Telecaster adds more value than ever before! An upgraded solid okoume body provides deluxe looks and superb resonance with mahogany-like traits. The body is topped with flame maple for dashing premium looks, and a maple top brings out more of those twangy, stinging treble frequencies that Telecaster fans go wild for. A solid “C”-shape, bolt-on maple neck offers endless hours of comfort and playability onstage, in the studio, or in the garage as you explore your style across genres. Two ceramic pickups provide signature Tele sounds in humbucker and single-coil form — that’s two styles of bright, full, and bold tone. Grab the Squier Affinity Tele from Sweetwater and hear, feel, and see what countless players over the years have fallen in love with!

Neck designed for fast, comfortable playing

Made from solid maple with an Indian laurel fingerboard, the neck on Squier’s Affinity Series Telecaster is designed to deliver a powerful, robust tone and smooth playability — ideal for blistering lead runs and chords up and down the neck. The 21 medium-jumbo frets provide you with added playing comfort, so you can continue for hours without hand fatigue. Bends, runs, fingerpicking, and flatpicking all sound great on this beautifully designed, comfortable neck.

Two vintage-inspired pickups offer dynamic tone

In order to deliver the crisp, full-bodied sound that the Telecaster is known for, this electric guitar is outfitted with two vintage-inspired Tele pickups — a traditional Telecaster single-coil in the bridge position and a humbucker in the neck position. Why do the pros and recording artists love this pickup configuration? It’s because you can enjoy bridge pickup clarity and twang. Meanwhile, the neck humbucker enhances everything from thick and mellow jazzy chords to loud, overdriven leads without the hum you’d get from the bridge pickup. Master volume and master tone knobs allow you to dial in the perfect sound for your style, and you can select either pickup (or combine them) using a 3-way selector.

Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Features:

  • Classic Telecaster feel, tone, and looks with a popular alternative pickup scheme and deluxe tonewoods
  • Upgraded with an okoume body and a flame maple top — rare finds at this price point!
  • Solid “C”-shape maple neck offers great playability and comfort
  • Neck humbucker and bridge single-coil pickup offer a comprehensive range of tones
  • 21 medium-jumbo frets provide you with added playing comfort
  • Master volume and master tone knobs give you plenty of tonal control

Reviews

Squire Affinity Tele
Love it. Neck carve is wonderful. Output on the pickups were matched very well on mine. Little rock and roll machine. Neck humbucker is smooth and articulate. Bridge does the tele thing. Couldn't ask for more for the price.
Gorgeous visually & tonally
Received last week and nearly perfect right out of the factory box.
I guess it wasn't expensive enough to warrant a 50-point inspection, but everything was great. A little truss rod adjustment and tuning and we're off to the races!
No sharp fret ends, beautiful finish front & back, neck & fretboard are fabulous. Gotta love the binding & belly cut!
Good guitar, great value
Honestly, I bought my telecaster online, sight unseen. That is not how i normally buy guitars. I definitely want to play it before I buy it. What attracted me to this guitar was the beautiful red finish and binding. Not many Fender/Squire guitars have binding. I was getting it for wall candy. After I tuned it up and played it a bit, I realized this was decent guitar. It's not often I am pleasantly surprised. This is definitely a player.
Music background: Playing guitar since age nine.
Beautiful guitar, with a beautiful sound
I bought this Squier Affinity Telecaster with humbucker for my husband, and it's been a fantastic addition to our home! The rich red finish and sleek design look even better in person, and the warm humbucker tone pairs perfectly with the classic Tele snap—great for jamming with our daughter. The maple neck is very comfortable, and he loves the medium jumbo frets, which add to the playability. The dual knobs give him the control he enjoys during practice. For the price, it's an amazing deal and highly recommended for anyone starting out or looking to inspire a family music session!
Very nice Telecaster
Bass guitar is my primary instrument and I also own a Stratocaster. But I've always been a fan of Telecasters and started playing guitar decades ago using a Tele so I wanted to look for one. When I saw this one in the transparent crimson red with the white binding I just had that feeling that this was a guitar that I wanted to own. My sales engineer Jordan Firstenberg always gets the job done quickly for me and this sale was no exception. I got it quick and am very impressed with Sweetwater and Jordan. Both are professional all the way.

This Tele rings all the bells. What can I say about the transparent crimson red finish. It looks beautiful and really lets the flame maple top show through. Also, it has a belly cut which is a good thing for an old dude who likes Mexican food too much. It's already got a great humbucking pickup in it. The neck has a nice profile and a pretty dark Indian Laurel board. Decent tuners and hardware. Speaking of the neck, this one was perfect out of the box. No sharp fret ends or high frets. Nice and level and the factory setup was also decent right out of the box. I just had to tweak at a tiny bit and set my action where I like it and it was ready to play. I like the fact that the front of the head stock is finished and the back of the neck is satin.

It sounds just like a Tele should. Lots of spank and crank from the bridge pickup. The neck Humbucker gets down and dirty when pushed hard and it's got a nice crunch. Middle position is nice and glassy with the volume rolled off just a bit. Overall it's a nice axe. Lots of modding potential too if you're into that. Squier has REALLY stepped up their game with the Affinity series. This guitar is easily able to go from box to stage.

If you've been considering a telecaster and you are on the fence about it, this one would be an excellent choice. A lot of guitar or not that much money with this particular model. It plays great it sounds great and it looks great. More could you ask for?
