Reviews

Seat cushion, legs and rubber feet (4/5)
However, poorly designed. It may have lasted a month before the seat would just come off if I lifted up on it. Now it's just a wobbly drum throne that I would not still have if I had to play outside of my home where my drums stay in place. I see Mapex still hasn't fixed the issue. This should be clearanced and addressed immediately. I can't believe a company like mapex doesn't have the resources to copy any hydraulic seat you can buy for very cheap and apply it to a decent drum throne. Bottom line, they need to be called out for this sorry excuse for a premium product. There are too many good choices for drum thrones at this price point to not choose a hydraulic version of similar product. Also, if I had to choose again, I would get the 3 legged stool instead of the 4. It doesn't make much sense to me why you would have a 4 legged drum throne, especially when you can't tip a tripod as easy as you can a chair. And, I took the backrest off almost immediately because it made me sit too close to the edge, when I prefer my rear to be in the seat when I play. Might be fine for a smaller person, like a child. No option of slide it back. I did drill new holes eventually but ended up taking it off completely. Overall, very poor design. Go with Rama, pork pie, dw, any of the major players in this area. I do not feel the same way about their hardware and drums, my mapex slander is in relation to this excuse for a drum throne, in fact I wouldn't let anyone even use this thing because it's dangerous. Seriously, I hope this helps future buyers and maybe mapex will be nice enough to include in the details when they upgrade this seat. I've had this for more than 4 years now and no changes. I can include photos if anyone reaches out to my email. I'm not the only person to complain about this. Unfortunately it took someone getting hurt for me to write this review.
