Ready, Player II — Enhanced Modern Performance

Blending historic Fender panache with the necessary tools for modern performance, the Fender Player II Stratocaster delivers a suite of versatile tone-crafting capabilities. A trio of premium tonewoods comprises alder, maple, and rosewood, while Player series single-coil pickups span a spectrum of shimmering highs, tight lows, and sonorous midrange. Guitarists at Sweetwater are thrilled with Fender’s decision to introduce rolled edges to each axe’s fingerboards, augmenting both comfort and accessibility. What’s more, Fender dove deep into the archives to resurrect iconic finishes — some of which have never been seen in the series! Between eye-catching aesthetics and a 2-point synchronized tremolo, the Fender Player II Stratocaster is your key to unparalleled expression and next-level playability.

Time-tested foundations

Fender’s origins are synonymous with the electric guitar revolution, and the Player II Stratocaster is imbued with the same foundational DNA. Its time-tested alder body anchors your tone in a sonorous, balanced cornerstone, blending resounding sustain with full-spectrum heft that doesn’t sacrifice articulation for presence. Maple adorns the neck, adding warmth and brightness in every register, with excellent voicing that ensures everything is crisp, powerful, and never harsh, from complex chords to roaring leads. Capping the tonal triumvirate is a rosewood fingerboard, supplementing your sound with a crystalline, glass-like veneer.

Contemporary tone-sculpting tools

To bring these sonic foundations to life, Fender meticulously crafted the Player series pickups to marry classic Fender style with contemporary tone-building necessities. This Player II Stratocaster deploys an SSS configuration. Player series Strat single-coil pickups utilize Alnico V magnets, expanding this guitar’s robust aural profile with glass-like transparency, percussive chime, and powerful voicing throughout the spectrum. With the aid of a 5-way blade switch, dual tone controls, and a master volume knob, untold worlds of latent sonic potential are waiting to be unearthed.

Maximum expressive possibilities

Aptly enough, it’s the playability of the Player II Stratocaster that elevates it to the echelon of modern, dynamic performance. The maple neck features a Modern “C” profile and satin finish, optimized for speed and comfort. It’s complemented by a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, blending versatile accessibility and robust in-hand feel to extract every ounce of sonic possibility from its 22-fret array. Adding to the comfort of the fingerboard’s rolled edge, Fender’s bookended the Player II Stratocaster’s 25.5-inch scale with ClassicGear tuning machines and a 2-point synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles. With rock-solid tuning and reliable buzz-free sound, the Player II Stratocaster expands your sonic palette for maximum expressivity, from subtle vibrato to roaring, evocative dives.

Reviews

Best Strat for the money!
I'm seriously impressed with the quality of the player II series. I own the black and white HSS config, and just got the Coral Red SSS version from Sweetwater. The Coral Red is my favorite. Pickups are killer! Really great traditional Strat sounds. I owned an American Standard around a decade ago, and this exceeds the quality of that Strat. Fingerboard edges are nice and smooth. No sharp edges on the frets, and the paint and finish is exceptional! Get one of these, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

A Real Workhorse Guitar
Fender really hit it out of the park with the new Player 2 series electric guitars. They look, feel and sound great! I own several versions of the Fender Stratocaster, including a 1995 MIM Strat, a 2003 American Standard Stratocaster, and a 2023 Vintera 2 Stratocaster. I've used my MIM (Made in Mexico) Strat for all kinds of gigs and shows and these guitar are real workhorse guitars that get the job done for just about any type of gig.

If you play in bars and clubs, your gear is going to get scratched and dented, that's just the way it is. I would never use an expensive, high-end guitar for these kinds of gigs. I only use my high-end guitars for private, corporate gigs and weddings, etc. where my equipment is less likely to get damaged. These new Player 2 series Stratocasters are the perfect "workhorse" guitars. They look, sound, and feel great just as they are, and they stay in tune. The only modifications I make to them is to change the nut to a real bone nut, but that's it. Get one and gig with it! If you like the Strat sound, it delivers on all fronts.
Excellent Quality
I am a Gibson man myself. I decided I wanted to try a Stratocaster and am I glad I did! This is a quality axe for a killer price. Thanks Seeetwater!
Excellent Guitar
The player ii are really good guitars. They are simple without bells and whistles. I have been playing for about four hours a day for the past week, so I felt that I have had enough time with it to write a basic review. Good guitar. The only ding I can give it is that it does. It come with a gig bag.
Player ll Stratocaster
This guitar is outstanding love it its a keeper Fender is making real affordable guitars again rosewood fretboard an all , pickups are great buy one a see . I also bought the nebula noir strat too Mexico is making great guitars now only if fender would make a proper Jimi guitar right hand with left hand tremolo
