Ready, Player II — Enhanced Modern Performance

Blending historic Fender panache with the necessary tools for modern performance, the Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS delivers a suite of versatile tone-crafting capabilities. A trio of premium tonewoods comprises chambered mahogany, rosewood, and maple, while Player series pickups span a spectrum of shimmering highs, tight lows, and sonorous midrange. Guitarists at Sweetwater are thrilled with Fender’s decision to introduce rolled edges to each axe’s fingerboards, augmenting both comfort and accessibility. What’s more, Fender dove deep into the archives to resurrect iconic finishes — some of which have never been seen in the series! Between eye-catching aesthetics and a 2-point synchronized tremolo, the Fender Player II Stratocaster is your key to unparalleled expression and next-level playability.

Time-tested foundations

Fender’s origins are synonymous with the electric guitar revolution, and the Player II Stratocaster is imbued with the same foundational DNA. Its chambered mahogany body anchors your tone in a harmonic-rich, balanced cornerstone, marrying blooming overtones with spectrum-spanning definition that doesn’t sacrifice clarity for presence. Maple adorns the neck, adding warmth and brightness in every register, with excellent voicing that ensures everything is crisp, powerful, and never harsh, from complex chords to roaring leads. Capping the tonal triumvirate is a rosewood fingerboard, supplementing your sound with a crystalline, glass-like veneer.

Contemporary tone-sculpting tools

To bring these sonic foundations to life, Fender meticulously crafted the Player series pickups to marry classic Fender style with contemporary tone-building necessities. This Player II Stratocaster deploys an HSS configuration. An Alnico II humbucker delivers punchy, articulate tones that maintain a crystalline veneer, taming cloying highs without compromising heat or thinning out at higher gain. Both Player series Strat single-coil pickups utilize Alnico V magnets, expanding this guitar’s aural profile with glass-like transparency and percussive chime. With the aid of a 5-way blade switch, dual tone controls, and a master volume knob, untold worlds of latent sonic potential are waiting to be unearthed.

Maximum expressive possibilities

Aptly enough, it’s the playability of the Player II Stratocaster that elevates it to the echelon of modern, dynamic performance. The maple neck features a Modern “C” profile and satin finish, optimized for speed and comfort. It’s complemented by a 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, blending versatile accessibility and robust in-hand feel to extract every ounce of sonic possibility from its 22-fret array. Adding to the comfort of the fingerboard’s rolled edge, Fender’s bookended the Player II Stratocaster’s 25.5-inch scale with ClassicGear tuning machines and a 2-point synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles. With rock-solid tuning and reliable buzz-free sound, the Player II Stratocaster expands your sonic palette for maximum expressivity, from subtle vibrato to roaring, evocative dives.

Reviews

Dark Solid Color

I really don't know enough about guitars to make an accurate review. But I was hoping for a transparent cherry burst color that was much brighter and transparent. This was more like a dark plum, solid dark red. It felt beautiful at about 6 1/2 pounds. Sweet! I had a few minor things wrong with it. The Pickguard was warped and rose up from the body of the guitar a bit. I've heard some people don't care about that, but it rubbed me the wrong way. My big E string had a weird vibration in it. And my little B string had a funny tink to it. So I didn't wanna spend nearly $ on a guitar with things like that so I returned it. No hard feelings.

For each and everyone of us that lost those that we loved, may we have sweet memories.

Fender Player II Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar - Rosewood Fingerboard - Transparent Cherry Burst
My first guitar and amp was a '72 Gibson SG with a Sunn Studio Lead Amp, in 1972. I always preferred humbucker pick-ups to single coil pick-ups. While I believe that the Stratocaster body design is the best,(for me anyway), the sound quality is excellent while the color is more brilliant than reflected in the pix, I am very happy with this Fender Stratocaster HSS.

Cam Allen is an outstanding salesperson and went way beyond excellent custom service to make sure that I received the guitar that I placed into my cart and that the delivery went smoothy.
New Kid on the Block
Just ordered this magnificent guitar and am expecting it in 2 weeks. I've had Stratocasters in the past, but this one looks unique and I'm positive will sound just amazing. I've never had an HSS and am intrigued how she will sound. And not to mention the price of this quality instrument! I'll check in again after playing her for a while.

Thanks,
