Classic '60s-style Strat for a Song

An affordable homage to one of the most iconic electric guitars of the past 50 years, the Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s sports updated modern features combined with vintage-inspired appointments. The result is the sound that made the Strat a stage and studio staple for generations. With three alnico single-coil Strat pickups and essential 5-way switching, you get thick, warm Strat tone. At Sweetwater, we're particularly stoked about the addition of a bone nut to the classic C-shaped maple neck and 9.5"-radius fingerboard — something we don't normally find on such an affordable guitar. Add to that a Vintage-Style Synchronized Trem, and the Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s is an amazing deal.

Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s Features:

  • Includes 3 Fender-designed single-coil alnico pickups
  • 5-way blade switch lets you tap into a full range of tones
  • C-shaped maple neck provides unquestioned Strat performance
  • Standard 25.5"-scale length, 21-fret fingerboard with 9.5" radius
  • 1.65" bone nut delivers upgraded string-to-body resonance
  • 21 Narrow Tall frets are comfortable and easy to play
  • Outfitted with a Vintage-Style Synchronized Trem

Reviews

Very Positive Buying Experience
I really love everything about this guitar, except for the tuners. It's not that they won't hold tune, but they are hard to turn and easy to overturn, and you end up chasing the note up and down. Everything else virtually feels and plays like a Fender and you can definitely dial in some vintage tones with the 5 position switch and tone knobs. Squire does a good job of replicating the super slim 60s neck, making this ax very playable for long sessions. Service and delivery were completely top notch. Got a phone call from service department and they set up according to my exact specifications. Placed the order on Wednesday and got a Saturday delivery with a full set-up, FedEx. Thank you, Sweetwater, for always paying attention to detail!
Bang for buck!
The neck on this axe is perfection. Nice and thick and fits my hand perfectly. I bought a demo and it was basically flawless. I wouldn't have noticed the tiny imperfections without Sweetwater pointing them out. I doubt anyone else will ever notice them either. I will say out of the box it wasn't great. The frets were gritty, the nut needed sanding and the truss rod was off. Luckily I've learned to set-up guitars and after a couple hours work this is the best strat I've owned. Better than my MIM and player plus strats. Also the blue is gorgeous and gets compliments constantly. Lastly customer service was top notch. Highly recommend this axe!
Classic Vibes 60’s Strat
Awesome product and service. Came setup and ready to play. Sweetwater over performs. I would recommend to anyone.
No Complaints
As far as strats go, I really can't tell the difference between this and a Fender. It's extremely comfortable to play, classic tones, and the neck action is great. It's hard not to love these guitars. I honestly can't think of a reason to complain especially at this price point.
Another Classic Guitar with the Quality as well as the Vibe
I already had two Squier Classic Vibe Strats, the older ones that were made in China, and I gave each one a locking tremolo, a wiring harness from Mojotone, and a mix of Dimarzio, Seymour-Duncan, and Wilkinson pick-ups. The guitars already played great, but they sounded even better with the new electronics, and were considerably improved in tuning stability by the aftermarket tuners. To this mix I added a couple of interplanetary-themed pickguards, and we were off to the races. I have half a dozen Fender Strats as well, and these Squiers more than hold their own; I think their necks make them the easiest, most comfortable guitars to play that I have in my collection.

So I finally broke down and bought another Classic Vibe of the Lake Placid blue variety from Sweetwater and was delighted to discover that their quality hasn't slipped in the slightest. In fact, the pick-ups sound way better than before, and the tuners seem much more stable. While I was thinking of this Squier as another modding platform, I just might leave it as it is. I also want to compliment Sweetwater on the quality of their inspection and set up; the guitar played like magic right out of the box, and the care they took with packaging and shipping was obvious. Way to go guys! You are the best of the best, and I thank you very much for all your help and concern. Alex Berglund is the best support agent ever!
