Sweetwater-exclusive Strat That Goes to 11

Over the long and iconic history of Fender Custom Shop, thousands of Stratocaster variations have been produced. None are like this one. The GT11 starts with a lightweight, roasted alder body and a roasted AAA flame maple neck for a very open and balanced tone. With the Sweetwater-exclusive 11"-radius fingerboard, the GT11 provides a playing surface that inspires and delivers more speed and precision. Add in three custom-wound Sweet ’64 pickups with the Half Blender switching system and Fat ’50s wiring, and you’ve got a premium guitar for any style of music. Topping off the feature-laden GT11 is an updated tremolo with improved string spacing and vintage staggered pole tuning machines. A NOS flash-coat lacquer finish gives the GT11 Stratocaster a vintage look that couples beautifully with its precision-performance hardware.

You’ve never felt a Strat neck like this one

Some necks feel good, while others feel great. The GT11 Stratocaster goes way beyond great — you’ll feel an immediate personal connection to this guitar. The 11"-radius AAA rosewood fingerboard makes everything effortless. Play a chord by the nut or play a few licks at the 14th fret; it all feels the same — smooth and incredible. And the AAA roasted flame maple neck features a ’60s-style Oval “C” shape that fills your hand perfectly, no matter where you’re playing. When we first got our hands on the GT11 here at Sweetwater, we were amazed at what a difference the 11" radius made — especially for players who were used to a radius wider than the traditional Strat.

The Holy Grail of Strat tones is right here

Trying to create the ultimate Strat pickup is no easy task, but Fender Custom Shop’s Mike Lewis pulled it off nicely with his Sweet ’64s. Voiced especially for the GT11, these exclusive hand-wound pickups deliver a full-range sound with fat, round lows, sparkling highs, balanced mids, and zero icepick frequencies. The pickups are under-wound, giving you unparalleled note separation and clarity. When we ran the GT11 Strat through its paces, we plugged into everything from vintage amps to high-end boutique models to uber-high-gain monsters, and the Sweet ’64s performed admirably through each. The search for the Holy Grail of Strat tones ends here.

All the most player-requested features

The GT11 Stratocaster gives you all the most player-requested features. You get a modern 5-way position blade switch, along with one volume and two tone controls. The volume boasts Fender’s Fat ’50s hookup wiring with treble bleed to avoid tone loss with volume changes. And you also get a Half Blender tone control that blends the neck pickup into positions 1 and 2, along with a master tone control. And the middle pickup is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity, for humbucking operation in switch positions 2 and 4.

Fender Custom Shop GT11 Stratocaster:

I can’t put this guitar down!!

I literally can't put this guitar down. I'm an HSS Strat guy and these pickups are satisfying my ear!! The neck is gorgeous and very easy to play. I'm thinking about another one!! Wish they came in shell pink.

Amazing Guitar

This guitar is simply amazing! The feel and playability are unlike any guitar I've ever played. The neck shape and sweet sounds from these pickups are top of the class. I own 17 Strats, but this is by far my favorite. Thanks to Jon Krempel for another great experience!

Nice Strat

This Strat got a very fast neck with help to achieve any style. I like the feel of big necks, but this one is perfect to apply deferents technics and improve my playability. The 11 radius feels right as truly unique. The nos finish in olympic white with the rosewood fingerboard with the baked maple is stunning. It is a keeper! Thanks Sweetwater and all the sales engineers!
Music background: guitar player for 28 years.

Amazing

Best strat I have ever had in hand. Finish is amazing. Neck is gorgeous. And plays like a dream. Can't put it down and my other guitars are becoming neglected. Shout out to Bryan Campbell for helping make this happen and getting me the right guitar.

Amazing Guitar, Mediocre Set-Up

This guitar showed up FAST- I mean next day fast. Big thanks to Carson McClain and his team for being able to get it to me so quickly. Opening the case you're immediately hit with that wonderful nitro smell and almost instantly notice the amazing flame in the roasted maple neck. Picking the guitar up it feels much lighter than an 8 lb guitar. Strumming the strings the roasted alder body resonates for days and the neck feels great in your hand. This IS a great guitar and you can definitely tell the difference between an American Professional II and this custom shop guitar. They are all "little" differences, but added together they really have changed my experience playing a Strat and I would say, make the guitar worth the added cost. The blender pot, the treble bleed and the custom wound pick-ups all sound great together. I love being able to blend the bridge and the neck together to get that amazing Gilmour sound. But truly, unlike other Strats I've played, this guitar sounds beautiful regardless of which position I'm playing in.
The ONLY fault I can find with this guitar is the abysmal set-up. I'm not sure how this guitar left Fender or Sweetwater with the action as high as it was, but it was close to unplayable past the 9th fret. I took it to my local luthier for a professional set-up and took care of the issue- I always restring new guitars right out of the box, but didn't expect to need the action/intonation adjusted professionally. Otherwise- AMAZING guitar. Definitely recommend this guitar.
Music background: Love to play
